Donovan Clingan breaks 2000 points in high school career…

Odd. The bracket link says 3/10 yet a CTInsider article does say 3/9. Hoping to attend….whichever day it is.

Game was originally scheduled for tonight but has been rescheduled for tomorrow (3/10) at 6:30.

UConn was NEVER on Tom Roy's radar back in the day. Neither was Calvin Murphy, Walt Luckett, Harold Jensen, Phill Lott, John Williamson, John Pinone, and others. One has to remember that UConn was not a "Big Time" basketball power on the national stage until much later. Granted, they were a New England name, for years, winning the Yankee conference on numerous occasions. However, they were 1 and done in the big dance repeatedly, save for the 63-64 run which got them into the Eastern regional finals against Duke, who waxed them severely. Remember they also rejected a bid to the NIT, after losing the playoff game to URI, which drove, then head coach, Fred Shabel to Penn. Yes Connecticut did have many home grown talented players in state. But these players went on to other schools, not UConn. Not until Corny Thompson, and then Chris Smith did UConn start to keep state players in state.

Anthony Harris never considered UConn (big mistake in hindsight although he ended solidly at Hawaii after Syracuse and JUCO). He was a Pearl Washington (R.I.P) fan and always wanted Syracuse. I attended games where Rick Pitino (then at Kentucky) and Caligari (then at UMass) attended. It was crazy seeing those guys in a high school gym. I attended every game home and away and never saw UConn coaches there.
 
Was there too last night. Close game for three quarters. Hurley was in the house as well. Was good to see him in attendance
