I was watching the Purdue game yesterday and I'm thinking I'd be more than happy if Clingan gave UConn what Edey is doing for Purdue. Averaging 14 ppg and 7 rpg as a sophomore. He was a 3 star recruit coming out of high school.
I’m hoping he’s a better defender than edey. But being as good as edey offensively will be a challenge.

Dave Vigeant owns The Village Restaurant in Lichfield. Very cozy nice place to eat in Lichfield center. My father coached against him in the state tournament. He went on to play at Vermont. Big time player in HS. I vaguely remember watching him play as a kid.

Would have dropped this in the Clingan "breaks record " thread but it's locked. Don't know if it's been posted but:

Here's a longer video of Clingan dropping 51 vs. Windsor. Also in the highlights are a few looks at Victor Rosa #3 and Prince Samuels #22 for Windsor is in it too.

How many went on to have good college careers? NBA?

Wondering how high scoring in HS relates to later performance. I'd love to see him drop 2k for UCONN that's for sure!

Awesome accomplishment. Cool to see that list too, nice that there are several UConn guys on there. Mustapha Heron scoring that many points in 3 seasons jumps out.

It all depends on the competition it was scored against. Roy had a mediocre college career. Williamson had a short but impactful career at New Mexico but went on to star in the NBA with Dr J with the Nets. Williamson played when New Haven high school basketball was the best in the country and his Wilbur Cross team although among the top in the country was still second to Hillhouse in New Haven.

Got to root for this kid and wish him the best.
Regarding the list of other 2K+ scorers – as a Norwalk boy myself, I must point out that Calvin Murphy would damn near the top of that list if there was a three-point shot during his career.
Go Donovan. Get stronger. Develop. Become a force at the next level.

I played against Vig in the Litchfield Over-30 league. He had unbelievable range. Good guy. He and his teammate Greg Raap bought the Village years ago from John Casadei who coached them in youth basketball. Like many on that list, he scored those prior to the 3-pt line. Where did your Dad coach?

Super John was a 1st team all-American in college, he averaged over 27 ppg in his two years and had the highest single season scoring average in New Mexico State history.

Clingan on display again tonight against Windsor in the semi finals of the CCC tournament at Enfield High. If anyone can stop him its Windsor. Conard against Northwest Catholic for the battle of West Hartford in the other semi final. Should be a good night for high school hoops. Northwest is the 2 seed by the way and is certainly capable of knocking off BC.

Any idea what year he graduated high school? I played against one of the Vigeant's in the state tournament in 84. We beat em in the first round.

Earl Kelley averaged 40 points a game his senior year. Hard pressed to believe he didn't hit 2000 points at Wilbur Cross...
