Donovan Clingan’s Glastonbury NIL Event with Red Fox on 3/2

While I recognize it’s low hanging fruit, I hope this tooth humor ends before the event. I think it’s great he’s doing the event, that will be providing fans access to him, despite what just happened. Sometimes we forget he’s a kid a year out of HS and we always should be supportive, as they go to battle for us
I agree that it's corny and stupid, but I highly doubt Clingan would be offended by it. I'm sure he's heard it a million times already.

Bit off topic but are there any plans long term for these type of events in NYC? Realize it's impractical if not outright impossible during the season.

Not a bad idea, but hadn’t thought about it until you mentioned it.

@Chief00 - just clarifying, are all dinner guests guaranteed an opportunity to talk/get autographs with Donovan? I want to bring my three boys, but being that it’s not really a kid type restaurant, I don’t want to go all the way there, spend a bunch of money and have my boys be iced out. Is the restaurant anticipating kids and okay with them? Thanks.

The direction he has is to circulate to every table and bar area and talk/pics /autographs. Andre did that in Middletown and people loved that, There will be one 2-3 minute speech thanking him for coming by a member of the BY. The rest is visiting with people and a little time for him for food and family.
It is a family run business, they understand you bringing your sons.

Would love to get my dentist friend to turn it in to an NIL deal. UConn Dental grad and huge hoops fan to boot.

Can a person provide a service for Donovan in exchange for publicity? Dental, orthodontia, car care, whatever. Company or businessman provides the service and the player promotes the company?

Thanks! The only time I see is 8pm. Is that too late to show up?

Thanks Chief! Nice meeting you.

Donovan was a class act.

PS Did Mr. Clingan help save a life near your table, @Chief00?
Yes he did, a woman was choking and Mr Clingan swung into action and perform the Heimlich Manuever and possibly saved her life. It is never dull at Red Fox.
It was a tense moment as people realized something wasn’t right but then relief and the waiters started clapping… glad everyone is ok!

Everyone had fun. Donovan wants to do another with Andre. Good turnout.

Haha Red Fox gonna need a banquet hall pretty soon. Wouldn't surprise me if down the road, the men's and women's team combine to do an event. Each having a player attend. That would be fantastic.

Tangentially, do any long time residents of the area remember a restaurant in this plaza named “KB Wintonbury”? My aunt and uncle owned it in the 90’s and I’m wondering if this place is in the same spot their restaurant was.

It is true that would bring in some new market segments. But for now Andre and Donovan are our guys. We are fortunate to have them.

Had a great time, thanks for putting this together. I enjoyed chatting with Donovan and his dad Bill. I told Donovan I plan on being in NY next Friday and Saturday and I expect the team to be as well. He gave me a thumbs up, and said they’ll be there. I love his confidence while still being humble. Props to the Red Fox for setting his dad and friends up well with a table, same as they did for Andre.
