Remember who brought in Coach Brown-yeah Coach P. If theirs one thing you can take from this he can hire a d. coordinator. He knows Defense, Offense that's another category. Looking forward to see who he picks.

Another anchor thrown at the survivors of the UConn Titanic. Can we now all agree we have total a$$clowns running Uconn? How does Warde the Poser let this happen? I cannot stomach anymore of this suicide by incompetence.

Calm down. Brown is 57 years old. He is attaching himself to the new HC at BC, which should get him 3 to 4 more years before retiring. The risk of staying at UConn and only getting 1 or 2 more years was too high, so the decision makes sense for him.

We will miss Brown, but the defense wasn't perfect. Brown's defense was exciting, but it took many risks. UConn's defense was good before Brown got here and I think it will be good after he leaves.

For UConn, this may make the coaching staff YOUNGER, which is sorely needed. Brown was the youngest of our 3 top coaches!

Agreed. I think the D will survive this without too much difficulty. Honestly, I think PP knows his D pretty well. I remain concerned about the offense.

What I like least about this is the message it sends from a PR perspective, that our DC can be hired away by a horrible BC team for the same position.

I agree we'll be alright, but an exciting defense made it a lot easier to watch our offense, which might as well have punted on first down. My bigger concern is who are we going to attract for a likely lame duck season with P? Who was his DC at Cuse? He might as well hire him and finish getting the band back together.

PP will get 3 more years so the new DC can get his own players.

I think Brown knew he needed to get off a sinking shop. P is done after this year and we all know it. Brown came to UConn because he wanted to come back to New England. BC is the only other option. He will be there 3 years or longer depending on Addazio's success. Good move for him to protect himself for the future. I thought this exact thing might happen and when I read it there was no feeling of surprise at all.

I'm going to mention a name that may put me in "Ridicule Land", but how about Spaziani?

Although he was a mess as an HC, I always thought that Spaz was very very good as a DC. His defenses were always high-performing, and I'm wondering if that would be an option for us here. Thoughts?

Have DeLeone coach the D, and hire Ray Handley to run the offense.

Bend don't break D. Good for 7-8 wins per year if it has an offense that can score 28+ points. Otherwise, on the field a long time with 10 yard cushions on the corners and some of the worst designed blitzes. Very rarely contained better offenses and very rarely beat ranked teams. The good BC D's benefited from some really outstanding players (Raji, Herzlich, Keuchly - to name 3 recent ones) that could dominate games on their own.

Should be looking at Heater, the guy from Temple who runs a similar style D to Brown with an aggressive style.

Agree with this. Brown knows Pasqualoni is on the hot seat and will likely be fired after this season if the team doesn't improve on its 5-7 mark (against a better schedule and losing half its defense). He's just making a move for stability now while his stock is up before being forced to look for work after 2013. Plus, I'm sure BC pays their assistants much higher than UConn pays. This issue HAS TO BE ADDRESSED. Otherwise, we're doomed with DeLeone-esque coordinators.

Maybe PP forced out DB. Ever think of that? Maybe he wants to go in another direction.

Sounds crazy, but who knows.

Maybe, just maybe after next year, Coach Addizo, comes back 2 CT 2 become Uconn next coach, and stick it 2 BC, I hope not because that would mean we had a bad season!!!!

That certainly is possible. If Hughes is named DC, then I'd certainly buy into it.

It's do or die for PP this season. He fails UConn can always hire DB as their head coach next season. He would take it in a heart beat. DB wasn't going to make it easy for PP to succeed.

Age doesnt matter to me when the coach in question doesnt coach like his age. Don Brown's style of coaching was the complete opposite of this coaching staff. You blast him for being too aggressive, I cheer him for it. The rest of the staff is not just old but BORING, and that's the key part not their age. You can have older coaches who are still competent and willing to adapt to the changing game. There is very little to cheer for with this team these days.

So if UConn has a losing season next year, was anyone interested in style points? People were ready to bury PP this year.

Either PP produces or not. His recruits are finally coming into play and he no longer has the RE leftover excuse. Worse case scenario if he starts off bad, WM fires him and does a national search early ahead of the other programs that s*ck. I wager UConn goes big if that scenario comes about!

And if PP surprises the out of everyone well............... crows will become extinct.

I will happily, ecstatically eat crow if we win more than we lose next year. I will party my ass off at the bowl game. I will buy a drink for any Boneyarder I run into there. Ain't gonna happen.
