After it became clear Bouk was working to get back, my thought during the Bouk absence has always been the games without Bouk will not matter.

I enjoyed the tone of the announcers. Both Raff and Lavin in the post-game.

Pre Game Tone: Can Connecticut turn it around? They currently are on the outside looking in. But they have opportunities to play their way in.

Post Game Tone: Well.... that's obviously a tournament team.....
 
We need to take care of business the rest of the way. I’m confident we will. But anybody who doesn’t think we’re a tournament team at full strength doesn’t know that much about basketball. There’s a reason we were in the top 25 before Bouknight went out.

I do not need to look at a profile to see what you post in threads, that would be common sense for most to understand, but that appears to be lacking here.

To be clear, I’m not saying we’re a lock to make it. That’s why they okay the games. I’m just saying any bracket that doesn’t include us between now and Saturday didn’t see how we played tonight.

I don't have any beef with HeGotGame but I do notice many of his posts are of the caustic variety in response to another poster and their opinions. It's probably best in this type of forum not to always engage posters like that, although I will admit I've had my fair share of them. So I agree with you it's best just to let that kind of stuff slide off your back and move on to the next thread and forget about it.
 
With Bouk it's a different team and is capable of damage to anyone. Without him, not.

I mean if you really break it down , if we lose to nova and win our next four games , we should be in -even if we lose in the first round the Big East tournament - if we win three of our next five games, we’re gonna have to probably win a game or two in the Big East tournament -anything less than three wins in the regular season from here on out and we’re probably going to have to get to the big East final to get in. The real question is will the committee take into consideration how different we look now that bouk is back? Nova game huge. I’m gonna say early line is nova by 5? Maybe 4?
 
If we win 3 of the next 5, regardless of who the wins come from, we will be 13-7 overall and 10-7 in the Big East, 3 Covid pauses, 9-3 with Bouk, 4-4 without Bouk, I think we are in. If we finish 10-7 in the Big east not sure how we are NOT in. I know this is not a normal year, but historically better than .500 in conference has been a lock

3-2 and a loss in first round of BET we're on the outside looking in. Win 1 in BET and we're sweating; win 2 and we're in.

Let's just take care of Nova on Saturday so instead of "Will we make the tournament?" the question down the stretch becomes "What seed can we get?"
 
If we beat Nova on Saturday, can we lose the next 5 and still make the tourney?!

Currently, multiple paths ..

1. Beat Villanova. I think this punches our ticket.
2. If we lose to Nova, win 4 of the next 4 and 1 BE Tourney game
3. If we lose to Nova, win 3 of the next 4 and 2 BE Tourney games
4. If we lose to Nova, win 2 of next 4 and get to BE Finals
5. If we lose to Nova, win 1 of next 4 and win the BE tourney

we got in the moment james, ajax, and recovering akok appeared on the bench, cleared to play. now, it's only a march to seeding tho, and like me, i don't think that they care one bit aboot who they play. it would be cool if they shredded big ten teams on the journey. somebody will, might as well be us.
 
Think we need to beat Nova and not drop more than one of the remaining and do some
damage in the BET. But, really it comes down to how many bids you think the NBE will get? I am guessing no more than 5 and likely 4. Nova and Creighton are locks. That leaves us, SHU, SJU and Xavier fighting for maybe 3 but probably 2 spots.

@Nova- going to be a great game, win or lose. Tossup.
@GTown- should be a win, but depending on the outcome of Nova I could see it being a trap.
2 games in Gampel- Per Dan Hurley, we ain't losing at home the rest of the year
@SH- Can't see us losing to the same team twice with Bouk healthy.

Obligatory "Doomed," obviously team has to come ready to play each game. Just my prediction

I agree with your concern for Gtown possibly being a trap game. I sincerely feel we are be can beat Nova. These guys are completely rejuvenated and are going to play like a team on a mission, and our talent will show when we play that way.
However, if we lose, I’m very concerned about Gtown in dc next. Gtown has been playing much better and the pressure on UConn to win if we lose to Nova will be immense.
Lets just win at Nova and we won’t have to worry about playing with that pressure.
 
I am worried but hopeful we take care of business. Here are the current numbers:

SHU, KenPom 33, RPI 46
UConn, KenPom 37, RPI 80
Xavier, KenPom 59, RPI 43
SJU, KenPom 65, RPI 70

NBE is currently 8th rated conference for RPI (AAC is 7th) and it is such a weird season with COVID effects so many teams outside the power conferences are showing well and I think we may end up with more of those teams in the tourney this season than ever before. Of course many teams can still play themselves off the bubble but right now, think 4 spots is the best the NBE gets this season.
