Do we go after Cole Cloer or Focus on Transfers?

If Will Wade leaves NC State for LSU, do we go after Cole Cloer?

Won’t he (at least potentially) follow to LSU? Or is it his NC roots that make that unlikely?

I believe he’s already enrolled at State, not that that matters much.

From the portal, we need a bigman and two penetrating, skilled ball-handling point guards. With two incoming recruits and five players graduating, 5 in 5 out.

I'd take him depending on how the roster shakes out in a few weeks. But the recruit I think makes more sense from a departing coach is Dylan Mingo
This… I have no idea if Mingo would even be a consideration, but that would be the much bigger move. Cloer could be a good player, but we will
Desperately need some veteran athletic bigs in our front court.

My wishlist:

1. Murauskas
2. Hines from SHU (if he enters portal)
3. Wilkins (if he enters portal)
Sign me up for this. I'd also be on board with Pettiford if Wilkins doesn't enter or decide to come here

Hines would be my #1 choice. Even if everybody came back (including Stew) it fills a skillset we don't have. We'd be dangerous even if he was our only big transfer. If we are too scrupulous to go after him I know a guy in Queens who isn't.
Also, Did we collectively move on from Vaaks on this board?

I cannot see a world where Wilkins didn't enter. HP has the exec plan and some $$, but if he's serious about hoops, he's coming. LJ from McNeese is interesting.

I think it's a stretch. How much loyalty would he have to Hubert to want to enter portal? Especially if they get Donovan.

If Hines has his mind set on leaving, you’re not hurting SH by taking him instead of letting him go somewhere else.
We'd lose him to Pitino. But I didn't even ask, why are we even talking about Hines? Did he say anything? Or are we just looking around the sport cherry picking dudes we love.

We 100% need a backup center. I'm pretty confident in our staffs track record of developing Bigs for Reibe. Even earlier this year he improved pretty quickly as a starter. But we still need someone behind him.

Hoping we go with County as the backup guard but we’re going to need a third guard regardless.

The past two years we've brought in two PGs that haven't been big pluses in Mahaney and Smith. Hoping we give the freshman a chance to put up similar production as those two while having the upside to possibly take over for us later on rather than leave got us to start over again after a year.

I'm confident in Reibe too after a summer of work. I fully expect you to face blowback championing him as a starting 5 on here. When he pans out too, between him and Ross, you may get a job on the bench.

(Although, Im happy with Smith lately. If he continues playing like this Id chalk it up as a success)

Why would he get blowback? There's maybe 2 posters on the entire site who don't like Reibe
