The kudos keep coming. It’s amazing that while we kept hearing he was highly touted by the scouts, many of us didn’t really appreciate what we had in Travis as we watched the games. The scouts saw it early in our season — that’s why they’re scouts and we’re not—lol. They also praised Omar Fortt and Ryan Van Demark. Let’s see how it goes for all of our guys. Fingers crossed.
“Top 5 Prospects Who Improved Standing After Senior Bowl Practices”
1. Malik Willis QB Liberty
2. Jermaine Johnson Edge FSU
3. Zion Johnson OL Boston College
4. Devonte Wyatt DL Georgia
5. Travis Jones, DL Connecticut
Travis Jones—It's important to not put too much stock in the offensive line vs. defensive line one-on-one drills because it favors the defense. That said, it's hard not to get excited about Jones' performance, both in those drills and during UConn's otherwise abysmal season. He's built like a bowling ball and his low center of gravity coupled with his ability to win at the snap makes him an easy guy to like. Especially impressive were his encounters with OL standout Zion Johnson (BC).
