I don't know. Maybe because the seeds don't reflect a prediction on how each team will play in its first tourney game, but reflect how they played over the course of a season? Or because there is no difference between seeds that low, because the numbers are often adjusted up or down a line to allow a team to play nearer to canpus.

Is it possible that anything can happen without someone having to blame someone for something not directly relevant?

Davidson is RPI 71, went 26-7, losses to Duke, New Mexico and Gonzaga, beat WVU, Vandy, and wait for it....Montana. And were on a 17 game win streak.

The committee did very poorly in seeding this year.

But if I'm being honest, it's only because I was rooting for a cuse loss in the first round. Davidson could have done it. Montana not so much

There were 16 seeds as good as Montana no doubt......that was a small, dreadful team!
