What exactly did he scale back with the ol? This is the worst they have looked. There was no offensive game plan to speak of tonight. No passes to foxx or Davis? Smh

Trust BD. I wanted to be the first to post that. 3 first downs with 157 left.

.-.
And another with 140 left. First inside the 50, yea BD.

Why weren't they throwing that earlier, says the announcer, good question,

.-.
you cannot go through the entire season coaching scared. losing close games cannot be the goal

They were playing a terrible team and treated that defense like it was 85 bears. Unacceptable.

No point for guys to go out and practice plays they'll never use until the game is over. This is how you lose the team.

Diaco embarrassed himself tonight. and maybe he embarrassed the school. The football team is likely a national punchline now. I mean if Danny Kanell is mocking you...

.-.
That was a prevent defense TD guys. I wish he did open it up more, but with 1 QB, the first series blind sided fumble was all he needed to see.

Why we don't run outside more is beyond me. The RB turnstyle needs to stop as well. Someone else besides Foxx needs to field punts.

Having 1 quarterback literally should have no impact on his play calling. There is no purpose in protecting the QB if you are not going to use him. It's a logical paradox.

With how easily the offense scored, THROUGH THE AIR, to close the game, he needs to be grilled as to why he took the air out of the ball for 57 minutes. We weren't playing the 85 Bears.

I mean, why not line up every single OL we have (up to 9) and have a QB hand it off to a RB? Or, better yet, 10 OL and a wildcat offense.

Should we run triple option? I mean , we have Geremy Davis (who caught the only ball thrown to him for a fahqing TD, by the way). If we aren't going to use him, we might as well let him transfer to BC and change our offense to a triple option.

I don't think I've ever been more confused and frustrated after a loss than tonight. It is very literally as if Diaco was playing for a backdoor gambling cover all game long.

The Wildcat would be a breath of fresh air right now. Have we run a single fly sweep this year? All of our running plays are up the middle. How about an end around?

Not to mention half of our drives started inside the 10. With an offensive line that can't block anyone, a QB who turns the ball over, and terrible conditions, you'd be an idiot to try and pass backed up that far. I thought the drive that we got the ball back after the penalty on the punt we were too conservative. Besides that though, I agree with the strategy. Not getting fooled by some garbage time TD.

How do you get the defense to play prevent defense in the 3rd quarter?

Overall, the strategy wasn't bad, but you have to give yourself more of a chance than to hope the other team coughs it up like they did at the end of the first half. We were 2-6 passing prior to the last drive. On national TV, that was embarrasing. That was a clunker of a coaching performance no two ways about it.

By backing at least 3 of the 10 guys they had within 3 yards of the LOS with simple quick hooks, slants and a bit of play action. No deep routes. Just quick and easy 3 step drop routes. I'm not saying we had to throw the ball every down. But Chr1st, a few pre-snap reads were just dying for playaction.

Hey, just telegraph that you are passing by lining up in the shotgun when you're passing. You have to try to get something going. Tonight was frustrating to say nothing of the first quarter fumble which you just shook your god damn head at.

I know. But the field position was just terrible all game long. Just terrible.

We might as well have punted on first down if we were just gonna run our RBs into the backs of the OL 3 times. And yes we started all our drives inside the 10...so pass the damn ball. Was Diaco hoping for 50 2 yard rushes?
