game is on ESPNU and ESPN3. Game was tied 12-12 early and ND now in the midst of a 13-0 run (25-12).

BTW, Depaul's quick guard (Hrynko) drove past Diggins heading in to the frontcourt and Diggins reached around from behind and knocked the ball away. Whistle. Foul on Diggins. That defensive play is called a foul just about every time with very few exceptions, one being the final minute of the UConn-ND game when Diggins knocked the ball away from Bria.

ND's perimeter defense is really good. Forced several TO's that led to easy baskets and they are executing well in the half court also. DePaul just does not have enough quality players to stay in this game.

Brittany Hrynko is going to be a good one. She'll be on the League All-Rookie team this year, for sure.

BTW, she was ranked 99th by HoopGurlz.

not sure she'll end up anywhere near an Angel type player, but similar to Angel in that she was ranked really low and is much better than her ranking...

HoopGurlz has always bothered me with the fact that their final class rankings do not take into account the player's senior year. That's a huge year of development to not consider, which is why cases such as Angel's do not surprise me one bit when they occur.

I loved it when Geno, during the Geno Show yesterday, stated that Diggins does get some special calls when she drives! Which is the honest truth. I'm watching the game with Depaul and I saw 2 fouls that were ridiculous

This is the first time I'm seeing Notre Dame play this year because I didn't watch the UConn/ND game. I'm just surprised at how aggressive they are allowed to play without getting fouls called. Granted I'm no referee, but by my account Diggins would have at least 4 or 5 fouls by now. She's literally grabbing people left and right and nothing gets called. Same goes for the rest of the team. But it might just be my Husky bias creeping out.

Agree, and if anyone should know this it's Geno. Come on, we all know that "Superstars", be it Michael Jordan, Skylar Diggins, DT or MM all get some calls that other "ordinary" players wouldn't get...it's just a fact of life in the sports world.

I know DePaul has many injuries, but ND was just toying with them. Martin is ok, but Uconn and ND just shut her down.

And yet the opposite can be true as well - especially for bigs - they get pushed and shoved down low and tend not to get the same calls. There was a funny story about Kim reaching out to a men's coach (can't remember who) before BG arrived for some insight into coaching such a dominant inside player, and the first thing the coach said was get used to not getting foul calls in the low post. And there have been whole threads devoted over the years to the mugging of Diana or ____ (fill in the blank.)
