It's always fireworks when these two teams play. Looking forward to watching this one.

Marquette is the better team when they're on IMO. Everything this year has been unpredictable though, so we'll see what happens. Should be a fun game though.

This game shows that it is on FS1 at 5:00 PM. At least it shows up on DISH that it is on.

Agreed Marquette is better on paper. Two years ago, with the same core of players, Marquette beat DePaul three times. But last year they split their regular-season contests and then DePaul destroyed Marquette by 35 in the conference championship game.

But Marquette seems to be playing better this year. The senior class of Blockton-Hiedeman-King-Wilborn is very special and has raised the Marquette program to relevancy. They made a big splash with their strong performance at Mississippi State earlier this year.

Glad you posted this could be a fun game to watch if shots are falling

Interesting that even though these teams are very close in the rankings (20 vs. 24), they are more separated in the Massey ratings, where Marquette is currently #10 and DePaul #25. They're playing in Milwaukee, and Massey gives Marquette a 75% chance of winning.

Allazia Blockton, Marquette's leading scorer, is out with an ankle injury. That's significant.

DePaul off to a cold shooting start. Marquette leads 14-5 at the first media TO.

Whoa this has gotten out of hand early. Natisha "Funkadelic" Hiedeman with 9 points and puts Marquette up 24-7 still in 1Q. DePaul calls timeout.

48-30 MARQ at the half

Hiedeman 17 pts, 6 reb, 3 ast, 3 stl

Heideman has 29 points now. Marquette crushing DePaul 74-40 at the end of the third quarter

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Looking at the boxscore while I wait for my general tsos chicken.

Marquette gets revenge for last year's 35-point beatdown they took from DePaul in the Big East championship game.

96-63 MARQ final

Hiedeman 32 pts (12-25, 5-13 3P, 3-3 FT), 8 reb, 6 ast, 6 stl, 1 TO in 35 min

That is an incredibly impressive game vs a good team.

Saw bits and pieces. Hiedeman is very fast. Fun player to watch.

When it goes bad for DePaul, it goes REALLY bad.
DePaul's system is what one would call high-risk, high-reward. Yesterday was a lot of risk and not much reward.

But Marquette is just a better team. DePaul very nearly took out Syracuse on a neutral court. Marquette has, on the whole, looked better than Syracuse so far, as reflected in their current Massey ranking of #9.

Marquette is a dangerous team, when their shots are going in they can beat anyone. Tournament time you do not want to draw Marquette early.
