Also... 3 full games here on the school's youtube channel. I'll try to get some stats on it after work today. Best game should be vs don bosco if I'm not mistaken--they have a 5* underclassmen.

Edit:

Also this one vs Bergen--another solid team. Don Bosco, TPS, and Bergen were some of the best in jersey this year.

He really has great balance on his shot. Granted we are watching highlights but everything he is doing looks like it translates to college. My only question is he a PG, SG or combo?

Denver Anglin vs Bosco… the stats on the NJ sports websit are not right.

26 PTS
5 REB (offensive)
3 AST (5 potential / 2 foul)

2 TO
4 STL
0 BLK

3/8 2FG
5/8 3FG
5/6 FT

  • Definitely Plays PG for his team. Brings the ball up the majority of the time.
  • Handle isn’t ideal, but not bad.
  • Reverses the ball quickly vs the zone
  • Has a whole bunch of different off-ball cuts in his arsenal. I like him in that role next to a playmaking forward like Andre.
  • He doesn’t look like a particularly good defender at the point of attack. Moves kind of weird laterally. Not a ton of effort most of the time, lots of reaching. Pretty common at this age though, and I have full faith Hurley can get the best out of anyone on that end.
  • This kid has an outrageously good shot. So fast, nothing but net. Even on the contested ones.
  • Does a lot of directing his team where to be. Speaks to confidence and leadership I’d hope.

Finish at the rim. Not a textbook finish but I think he used the left hand which is good to see.

I like when kids work hard to break up fast breaks, even when the TO wasn’t their fault like this.

whoa. i turned off the vid around halfway thru cuz nothing changed -every shot perfection. often, the ball barely rotates after launch, the definition of a soft touch. i like how so many posts here identified that sweet stroke. sign this guy up.

Has a nice feel for when to drive and score, or pass off, but mostly he's the shooter we so badly need. Hopefully he's a really high priority.

New article with updates on his recruitment.

Any ideas on a commitment timeline?

It would be a shame for him to waste his ability at Georgetown.

They are going nowhere and the revolving door with their best players ought to be a message to the recruits. But, when they all believe so much in themselves they probably feel they can overcome anything and make it great. Great to have that confidence but not the reality of the situation.

Yes please! Reminds of Bazz on that leg kick corner 3 and also some Myles Powell. #bucketgetter

Myles Powell is a solid comp there too. Or Markus Howard as well, little sniper with big game.

Very glad to see him get an offer. Shooting is always needed.

Beneath his words about the offer, the image of the Husky & Bouk was blocked out and displayed the warning "May contain sensitive content," and required me to click on it in order to view it. Funny

Tbh, I rather like that a recruit so readily identified UConn with the development of NBA-bound talent.

Vs Bergen

33 PTS
4 REB (1 offensive)
3 AST (6 potential /1 foul)

5 TO
2 STL
1 BLK

6/11 2FG
5/13 3FG
6/8 FT
  • Team plays a lot of zones, so it’s a little difficult to guess how well he’d do in our defensive system. Definitely small. Not fundamentally sound… but not many guys are in HS, TBH. Rahsool looks the same way. Bazz did in HS. The list goes on.
  • I would say his handles look less developed than say Boatright or Napier… but definitely better than CVs. The time playing PG in HS will be big for him at the next level.
  • He spends a TON of time with the ball in his hands, despite being on a team with a bunch of D1 prospects.
  • Not the kind of kid who’s going to draw a bunch of fouls at this level. He isn’t seeking contact at the rim or anything. Tends to go to his floater vs size because he’s short and not a great leaper
  • A little too right hand dominant as a ballhandler right now
  • In man to man he was matched up vs Will Richardson a bunch--#81 composite in the class. Richardson had 21/5/5 … Anglin had 33/5/7 supposedly, but the stats sites are clearly just blatantly lying. So, at least by the points, he outplayed him handily.
  • He hits a TON of 3s on inbound plays.
  • Had over half his teams points--yeesh.

2 dribble pull up

Technically a steal, I guess. + the assist
