Demary

It seems like Senor Testiculo made a visit to him pregame and decided last night was the time to give Demary his Husky nuts.

To paraphrase Boatright, Demary and the Huskies left the fans at the Dunk with a bad taste of UConn in their mouths.

It wasnt seamless tonite but Dauster and Jared both agreed on earlier in the week that statistically this would probably be the night that Silas and Bray start to bring their stats to expected level

I love this roster. That was a great team victory against a Providence team and a coach who earned my respect.

Incredible and complete game. I didn't know he had this in him, but I was very grateful he did. Hopefully we don't need him to do quite that much.

I think he had 5 Steals as well which in itself is incredible.
One of them was where the PC guy dribbled it off his leg and gifted Silas a steal (ended up getting fouled and his 2 FT's), but hey, it counts the same in the boxscore. Lol

Silas might be the toughest guy on the team with elite all-purpose athleticism. Leading by example here with his IQ and sheer will to compete. 15 assists, 23 points, 4-6 on 3's, 5 steals, 3 rebounds in 41 minutes. All of it with us under pressure, with Providence holding the lead. One turnover in 41 minutes, not just dribbling, but all that decision-making and passing, again 15 assists.

Then the crunch time pull-up with no time on the clock.

As a complete a game as I have seen played since Tristan Newton with a couple of his more outstanding games. Super impressive! This was a championship level effort by Silas Demary.

When Silas Demary Jr. committed to UConn last spring, he was considered one of the most sought-after guards in the transfer portal and an important addition for the Huskies. He had shown flashes over the first two months of the season -- including a 21-point performance against BYU -- but there was also a six-game stretch during which he averaged only 4.8 points. Down 13 in the second half to Providence on Wednesday, Demary turned in his best game since arriving in Storrs. He finished with 23 points, 15 assists and 5 steals, with 18 points, 7 assists and 5 steals coming after halftime. Demary was a spark on the defensive end and made several key shots to key the comeback. Per ESPN Research, he's just the third Division I player over the past 30 seasons with 20 points, 15 assists and 5 steals in a game.

This is why we need him on the court for 30+ minutes per night. Seemed like he made a real concerted effort last night to not foul. I will gladly accept his guy scoring an extra basket here or there for him staying out of foul trouble and staying on the court. His value to the team is far too important. When he plays, he produces.
