Yes, Sammis can, because he has chosen the starting QB, and has further chosen to stay with him. His choices, his responsibility.
 
The transfer portal can be a hit or miss. There looks like some big misses on the defense. this year. I was worried going into the season that we would have win a lot of high scoring games. I wasn't as worried after our defense played a great game against Syracuse until the 4th quarter. After this week I am back to thinking we need to score a lot points to win games this year. I don't think people should give on this team yet. A lowering of expectations would be in order though. Maybe a winning season with a bowl bid should be the best we can expect. Lets see what we do the next couple games before we give up entirely on this team.
This loss does really hurt.
 
I know the O wasn't THE key problem today, but I still think Gordo is in over his head. Very little creativity, and I don't mean trick plays. At this point I'd even take a draw play. Few if any passes over the middle. Designed QB runs. Would a little misdirection kill us?
With that said, the D blew this game for all the reasons people mentioned. Bad penalties, bad tackling, etc.

Agree but the first pass on fourth down was just terrible. He had time and was just so far off.

I will be there next week and hope for a much better outcome.
 
The defense needs to run steps as they couldn't tackle and just blew coverages a few times. Again a loss that just is so frustrating
 
I am a military combat officer veteran. The commanding officer is responsible for EVERYTHING his subordinates do........good and bad.

No excuses.......Mora is the CO. Case closed.

Why do people forget Evers was our QB last year and we had 9 wins. Sure Joe is great and puts up great numbers, until the game matters. What has those great numbers got you 1-2 record. Yes defense sucked today, but not last week and he's the one missing the easy pass when it counts, he's the one who gives us no running threat and he's the one snapping the ball with 20 seconds to go on play clock up 3 with just over 2 minutes left and other team with only 1 TO left.

You're just ignoring the question.

What do you think the score would have been if Evers started? As you calculate that, remember he he averaged 118 passing yards per game last year.
 
Bottom line, the offense didn’t do enough to win. Couldn’t punch it in when they needed to. Couldn’t run the clock out. Of course the defense was terrible. So the o had to do more.

100%. I think Joe was a year behind me and I graduated in ‘86. We need a mobile QB at least for these option situations to run and not whip it behind our TEs.
And we sh.. the bed in OT. God we looked bad.

Let’s stop this charade! UConn is not, and never will be, a football destination. You have to be what you are…and it has nothing to do with football. Drop the sport completely…save the money!

As embarrassing as this day has been, big time programs do not make small time decisions. If you want to be URI or Vermont then to each their own.
