Delaware Post Game Meltdown

There was at least one play in the final five minutes where we snapped the ball with over 20 seconds left on the play clock. I bet if you went back and watched a replay of this game, you could find at least a minute of clock we could have killed in the last five minutes just by snapping the ball with less than five seconds left each time. Mora is capable of better, and I don't understand this.

Let's be clear here.

We lost the game because of the defense, 100%.

But the wastefulness on offense with the clock was particularly irritating.

Joe has played meaningful minutes in all 7 years. Last year was the first for Evers
He has played 3 years for us and first year he got hurt in the first game. What has Evers done in his 4 years? Transfer a bunch and not play since he isn't good enough. There is a reason why he lost the job last year to Joe F.

Yikes anyone even advocating to play Evers over Joe I'm not even gonna argue I'm just gonna tell ya to go seek help.

So much for those undefeated and 10-2 predictions on this board. Mora really knows how to kill attendance at the Rent.

The only thing worse than watching this game was having my 18 month old granddaughter here for a sleepover. I have curse-word overload and it's giving me indigestion.
Also, I guess, the fact that I re-upped my ESPN Plus subscription and paid to watch this show.
Now at least I can pound some beers in the hot tub and swear at the bubbles. , this just sucks.

Move on from Fagnano. Need a mobile QB see what Evers can do and if he is not the answer then you know for next year. On the fourth and 2, if he makes a decent pass to the receiver it's a first down, game over. OT, if he leads the TE he walks into end zone. Throws it behind him. He has no accuracy and no mobility
Do you honestly believe we would have gotten to overtime if Evers was the starter?

Defense would have given up even more points because we wouldn't have been able to move the ball, and offense wouldn't have scored more than 21. We would have lost by at least 20.

We can knock Joe for his accuracy, and he made a bunch of bad throws today. But he completed 74% of his passes for 350 yards. Last year Evers completed 54% of his passes and managed 900 yards over 8 starts.

Can we please be real here.

There was only one bright point in the game.

We had a properly officiated game and lost fair / square.

I have no problem with this unlike last week where I think they had their hand on the scale - the ones in the booth from far away anyways….

lol no meltdown. We are just not good. One of the parents I talked to on opening day said the defense isn’t good. And it isn’t.

Maybe we can put up 6 wins. But I wouldn’t bet on it.
The team just needs to keep practicing and work on improving every day. No one said it would be easy. Just keep grinding

I am so mad. This loss was terrible. They couldn't stop the run and gave up three big plays. Then when they needed to make a play they couldn't make it. How does a Fagnano miss the tight end twice on short throws? Then why not go for the field goal to put them up by 6 which means they have to drive the field for a touchdown.
Then in OT they are down at the two and do a straight run and instead of running it again they throw a lousy pass to the tight end which was high, Then Green gets beat to the inside for a sack on third down.

UConn couldn't stop them when they needed too. Just a disappointing loss to a team they should have beat. Two weeks in a row UConn blows it

This was an awful loss and a disgusting performance by the defense. I can't get over how slow we are when we blitz -- we take terrible, looping angles and we just take a year and a day to get from the snap to the backfield (if we even get there).

We couldn't stop the run up the middle. We couldn't stop the run on the edge. We played off their receivers and consistently gave up 8 yard passes. When Delaware opened things up our corners did not seem able to handle 1v1 coverage in space.

Today the 3-3-5 felt like a 3-8 because I swear to god there was just no one covering the middle of the field from 5-10 yards.

Given where we want to be we should be able to get a stop when we need one against a middle of the road C-USA team. We never even came close today.

A 7th year QB  has to know you can't throw to a tight end short of 1st down in that critical spot.

The route by the TE was terrible. The TE was back pedaling and hadn't cross the line of scrimmage. The whole operation was terrible made worst by a bad throw.

Welp.
At this point I hope Delaware has a FANTASTIC season, to lessen the sting from today. Crazy to put up 41 on someone and still lose.

Rosa probably ain't playing much anymore this year after that fumble. It's clearly why he doesn't play and it's too bad because he's great besides the fumbles
He has a constant issue of running into his blockers, which was partially why he didn’t see the defender come and knock that ball out.

Losing programs find ways to lose games, it’s a mentality. Good ones find ways to win. He talks a great game, can do some things that appear on the verge, but Mora has a way of finding ways to lose. Has no hand on the dial on how to close a game, at all. Scrodiddle seems to invert when it matters.
