Don't ask trick questions.WTF? Can this team handle a Texas high school team?
maybe we need a coach with a defensive background...no contain, no blitz to disrupt, no penetration
Everything about the way this defense was coached to defend the option is wrong.
That he threw the ball around well. Levy FS penalty was a killer.Boyle in for his single series/game quota?
I looked it up, Navy scored 35, 14, 10, 34 against Diaco's defenses at ND. Notre dame's offense scored more in the last 3 games. As in 56, 50, 38.To be fair, it's not like Diaco faced options while at ND- oh, wait, NAVY
For crying out loud. The simplest thing in defending the option is getting the QB to pitch ASAP. You do that by going right at him not trying to mirror him down the LOS.No one is attacking and drilling the QB, we have slow DE's playing pattycake.
no contain, no blitz to disrupt, no penetration
Indeed, 2 high safeties is mind-blowing.we're playing bend but don't break defense.. against OBVIOUS run (triple option) plays.... unbelievable.....

The safeties positioning is baffling
Watching our players influenced/biting on EVERY single fake, they aren't doing the jobs they were coached to do. The instant the player assigned to take the QB bites on a fake instead of hitting the qb like they were coached....it's over.[/QUOTE]E="Excalibur, post: 1117385, member: 62"]Everything about the way this defense was coached to defend the option is wrong.
