OT: Deep Album Cuts - Mellow Rock & Soft Jazz

When the calendar turns to September, I always think of Julie London:

Always been a Shakatak fan.
I remember the first time I heard them I was in my car and thought this is great. I waited until the song was over and the deejay did not say who the band was. This was in the eighties so it took me a couple of days to figure out their name.

Lonnie Liston Smith - "Summer Afternoon" - I think this is one of those artists that define mellow:

Maybe we can bring some attention to a few buried, beautiful, gems from over the years....maybe decades?

I'll kick it off with this one from Dire Straits:

third best selling british album of all time. i think 9 times platinum. recorded on a caribbean island I think Monserat. love this whole Album ,its one of the ones you listen too from start to finish. I us to cycle to this all the time and ride along the shoreline in the milford area.

This is Mike Greene - a former president/CEO of National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. Back in the early 70's he had a group, The Mike Greene Band. They put out a couple albums, and this cut from one of them - Pale Pale Moon, is a nicely soft & hypnotic instrumental:

Super talented Alex Bugnon from Switzerland. Just an awesome artist and song. Especially the end of it.

I'll end the piano lovefest with super talented Brian Culbertson and his 2021 hit.

Here's a lovely little ditty from Robert Palmer:
