Models her game after Kyrie Irving and Allan Iverson, the latter is exactly who I thought of while watching her. Like parts of her game more than his though, at least based on early looks.

And just for fun, here is Ms Tomlinson in 2017 at 11 years old.

Tomlinson is a workout fiend. This is one of several videos demonstrating her work ethic. Don't think I've ever seen quicker feet.

Are there quicker feet? Can there be quicker feet? It sounds like she tap dancing...on her toes. The old fashioned way. She's nasty with left handed stroke.

Brooklyn was arguably the best high school hoops in the country when my high school, Brooklyn Tech, competed against storied Boys High [Connie Hawkins], Erasmus Hall [Billy Cunningham] and Wingate High [Roger Brown]. At the time, circa 1960, the CHSAA [led by Molloy's Billy Lawrence] was considered the top high school boys' basketball conference - top-to-bottom - in the country, and still is today!
The high school girls' program at that "gloomy place" - Christ the King HS - has been designated by USA Today as the best in the land, eh?
I was a freshman at Tech in '63. I still live about 16 blocks from BT.

I was at Chaminade in the early 60s. Here is the 1963 CHSAA All-City Team: Val Reid, LaSalle (played at Syracuse); Willie Wolters, Loughlin (Kara's father; played for Bob Cousy at Boston College); Lew Alcindor, Power Memorial; Lloyd "Sonny" Dove, St. Francis Prep (played at St. John's U. and in the NBA); Chris Chimera, LaSalle.

Do you live in Ft Greene? My nephew, Doug Turner, was a Tech freshman '64, eh? Did you know him? At that time Brooklyn Tech was considered the best academic high school in the country!

Did you know Billy Lawrence, All-City hoops at Molloy in the early 60s .. a good pal o' mine...

Have we heard anything lately about Jaelyn Bates from Volcano Vista in Albuquerque? She is now a junior and was 2nd team All-State as a sophomore. She has an offer from New Mexico and interest from some other D-1 schools.

Not exactly hard to see why UConn has interest.

Amazing young player, she has a real jump shot leaves the floor and elevates, no chest push shot. Looks as fast as CD and maybe she has a better shot. Thanks for the post.

2023 Ashlynn Shade put up these lines in two games last week:

24 points, 7 rebounds, 6 steals, 2 assists

26 points, 5 steals, 4 assists

2024 Joyce Edwards' last two games:

27 points, 7 assists, 13 steals

37 points, 15 rebounds, 5 assists, 9 steals, 4 blocks

Highlights from the first game:

So I wonder with all these young players getting photos with Azzi and Paige (and most certainly Paige social media followers) if this should give UConn the inside edge on recruiting them, you know "my dream school was UConn where my favorite player went to school"...
