hmmmm... you think so? I think Providence will make the NCAA tourny, but do you think they will finish above any of these 4 teams listed below?

UConn, Creighton, Villanova, Xavier
Yes I believe they will finish ahead of one of those 3 that isnt us. Just my opinion/prediction

I’ve been warning people about PeeCee. They had a rough start. They will end up top 4 in league. Watch.
Always the same with Pee Cee; play excellent in conference but can rarely win a big game. I think you’re right though, they look good tonight and have a bit of a bench. Ali can’t make a shot tonight to save his life, the rest of the team can’t box anyone out, it’s awful for Butler. No crowd when you’re down by 20.

I’m holding off on talking down to PC until we advance further in the NCAA Tournament than them. We need to win big games.

Pitt 76 North Carolina 74.

Does that loss knock NC off the top seed line? It was a tough ACC opponent on the road.

Part of me is "meh" but part of me doesn't mind seeing it. But actually Pitt doesn't look half bad compared to how they have been the past few years.

Unc was kind of gifted that 25 ranking all things considered but this should knock them out for a while.

Pitt is good this year. Not great but way better than Syracuse. Capel turning the ship a touch.

"Good" might be generous. "Better", certainly. They found a rough gem in Federiko because Hugley's been awful at the 5. Guard play is decent this year with the Guess Who kids who both play 32+mpg, and Burton was a ridiculous 14-17 today. There's no depth in front court and really only 2 kids who are 3 pt threats. Might be an NIT team with some luck.

How about 50 with the winning going to a worthy Husky related charity? It will keep us from getting in trouble with Tom here. :)
Done. I’m not too familiar with the Husky related charities unfortunately, so if you got one in mind, let me know.

They are in ACC

"Discount Kevin Ollie" made me laugh
Yeah classic

Also big discount on a National Championship to get a blown big halftime lead in the championship game.

UNC had all the hallmarks of a team that overachieved in the Tournament and was given undue respect in the following season's rankings, just like our 2011-12 team.
They were a bubble team for most of February, and hit hit for a couple of weeks.

St. John’s down big away. Once again 10 foul shots vs 20, but our jobbing was 3 times worse.

Three BE teams will be ranked this week, but not seeing a fourth anytime soon. Didn't expect Nova to lose at home. Knew Marquette had a top 10 offense, but they held Nova to 22 in 2nd half, so their D seems to be improving.

Villanova season basically over with loss at home to Marquette. 7-7 now
It ain't over unless you mean they won't win the title. Marquette is good. They have a lot of wins and Q1 games left.

They need about a 14-3 run, but their schedule and current play is suggesting 10-7. Might not make NIT.

53rd in Ken Pom and somewhere in the 90s in the NET. 14-3 and I bet they'd still be on the bubble

Marquette, unlike other teams, seems to know how to play D in a way that makes Nova a little uncomfortable on offense. They don't allow Nova's players to methodically back down their defender to the basket by keeping a satellite defender to help. Most teams don't do this because they are afraid of giving up the open 3. However when the Nova player with the ball to passes it out to the perimeter Marquette's players are quick and fast with their rotations and recover quickly denying Nova's shooters uncontested looks. Marquette's players are athletic with long arms and they get a lot of deflections. They swept Nova last year as well.

Marquette gave up 1.06 points per possession to Villanova and we gave up 0.94.
