I hate that.Damn, that sucks our players don't get to develop this year too

With that, I think if Uconn played Michigan right now, not sure it would be all that close. I do think it will be right there by end of year.
Not once did I say they wouldn't stand a chance.
Yea, Hurley teams have a strong track record of not improving as the year goes on. We also don’t seem to develop talent either.Damn, that sucks our players don't get to develop this year too

Yeah, that's what I said. My point was that AZ has two top ten kids, one that started slow. Another on the bench that is top 25. Those type of kids tend to have a lot of room for growth, like a Mullins does.Yea, Hurley teams have a strong track record of not improving as the year goes on. Just looked at Michigan schedule, seems they had a bit of trouble with Wake Forest and TCU. Looks like they get to play some pretty good teams the rest of the year. Question, if so good how many loses do you see, if any, for the rest of the regular season. Hard for a team in decent conference to lose less than 3 or 4, will they do better than that? Not a big fan of Massey on some of their stats but Massey has Michigan with 6.63 expected losses rest of year (has UConn 4.69 and Michigan State 6.25).I think they'd have won in Gampel flying across country midweek too.
I don't think they'd run AZ later this year on a neutral court once their frosh develop some. I'd call it a dead heat, with Michigan a cut above.

Anyone doing that is about 10 years too lateFor those saying they are going to register to post on syracusefan to talk trash, don't.
Michigan has what is one of the two contestants for player of the year, and a fringe lottery pick. It then also has a first round rim protecting center. And a lot of talented and large "role" players after that. They have a McD AA coming off the bench, a former McD AA at PG. I've seen their PF mocked in the second round. SG is a big kid that shoots 40% from three.Just looked at Michigan schedule, seems they had a bit of trouble with Wake Forest and TCU. Massey rates Puke best team and Michigan 3rd and Arizona 2nd.
I'm not a real good judge of talent or Sanogo and Newton would be tearing up the NBA, but Michigan having more talent sure seems like a big statement with the guys UConn has. Last year Duke had some high 1st round picks and think all 5 starters got drafted, is Michigan talent that good.
Michigan is undefeated (10-0) with two wins over teams also in the Top 25 And 1 -- but the Wolverines won't play another currently ranked team until they meet Nebraska on Jan. 27. Arizona is undefeated (9-0) with three wins over teams also in the Top 25 And 1 -- but the Wildcats won't play another currently ranked team until they meet BYU on Jan. 26. Obviously, neither sentence guarantees anything because this is college basketball and goofy stuff happens in college basketball all of the time. But what those sentences at least suggest is that these two obvious title-contenders could keep zeros in the loss column and remain No. 1 and No. 2, in some order, in most human rankings deep into January.Just looked at Michigan schedule, seems they had a bit of trouble with Wake Forest and TCU. Michigan is tough. Could they run UConn out of the arena? Yes, Would they? highly unlikely. I dont see, right now, UConn running Michigan out of the arena but I do see them winning,The disagreement is coming from the idea that it’d be a “mismatch” and that Michigan is “clearly more talented”. Do you remember saying those things?
No one is upset you think Michigan is good. We all think Michigan is good. You’re just on a UConn message board attempting to convince UConn fans that their top 5 team wouldn’t stand a chance. Read the room.

Starting to think he is a Michigan Manchurian candidate that was just activatedDisagreeing with Ruff then arguing just feeds his desire to cause drama/stir the pot. You have to be the bigger person and just not respond, he will not stop.
Speaking of odds, those are great odds to get in on with UConn. Slightly lower than start of the year, but not by much (I believe they were +1200 to start the year?). Whatever the debate is with Michigan, I’ll take UConn, Arizona, or Duke at those odds over Michigan at +475View attachment 114646
It's actually hysterical when the heads of the mafia come out pumping the pom poms when just about every outsider data point is consistently the same.
Being third here is ok yeah know. Still great odds. And I'm one that is in agreement that I think we can beat AZ on a neutral court if healthy. Michigan is another animal from a talent perspective.
I'd take us on those odds too. I don't think you can underestimate the coaching & system factor. Our team this year is good enough to impose it, and teams simply don't see it anywhere else. It's not all that different than StM, simply with much better talent. The UF tourney game last year was a good example. That Florida team was so much better than last year's UConn team, yet the system almost won us that game (should have if we simply shot it mediocre).Speaking of odds, those are great odds to get in on with UConn. it's just funny that you are compelled to advocate so vigorously for a team other than UConn on the boneyard. i havent seen anything like it in my 7 years here (shoutout @HuskyHawk.) yes this is a UConn message board so yes most are wearing blue tinted goggles whether they admit it or not. but why take it upon yourself to beat them all into submission? are you going to keep this up until the final four? you deserve a break it seems exhausting. My guy
Lipscomb is not very good this year either.....Lipscomb is taking it to Duke. Got blasted early and went down 10-0 but are on a 26-6 run. Up 10 after around 10 minutes
Forcing a lot of Duke turnovers and getting a lot of fast break points. Announcers are mentioning that’s how they like to play
This is fun!
Yeah, I posted it in the Butler postgame thread.Anyone catch the Field of 68 after Dark last night? All 3 guys, including Goodman (no Dauster) were glowing about UConn. Putting them up there with Michigan, saying that UConn may actually be the number one overall team. @RuffRuff would have been crushed.
