December General CBB Discussion Thread (Non-BE)

FWIW, I watched a bit of the Hofstra/Pitt, and Hofstra has some really good players. I’m kinda surprised they’ve lost four games, tbh, and not surprised at all they beat 'Cuse.

Hofstra's PG (who played for Pitino at Iona and for a cup of coffee with St. Johns) went for 36 against Pitt and 22 and 9 today. He can really play.

Buzz gonna have to talk to his dudes and let them know how the refs are calling this game, they're doing too much

I'd go further than not good to describe this Maryland team. They are pretty bad, or have been so far this year.
Their losses are to Zags, Bama, G'town and Bennett Stirtz. That wouldn't be a total resume killer if they had any good wins. Unfortunately for them, winning @Marquette this year is not a quality win.

I wish Lendeborg pulled a Cedric Coward and stayed in the draft, he's the separator for Michigan

If it were just losses I'd agree, but they lost three of those by 19 or more and one by 10. They also only beat a bad Marquette team by 7 and Mt St Marys by 5 and UNLV by 7. That's not a good resume at all.

IU UK battle of two of the most overrated teams in the country. Tucker DeVries continues to be incredibly average. Oweh at least playing with some effort today. IU will be lucky to be a tourney team, UK probably a 8 seed that everyone chooses and then loses by 14 to Oregon in the opening round

Michigan is damn good, but if we do run into them on March, I like our chances. I really think we would have them gassed by the end of the game.

This would have been a very important game in 1978.

They have a thread about who their next coach could/should be, and some are thinking that Jay Wright or Brad Stevens might be interested b/c they're Syracuse. Make it make sense.
Rumor has it that John Wooden would return from the hereafter for the opportunity to coach at Syracuse

Team isn’t great but Devries is pretty good

They called him for taunting in the first half, too.

It was an exceptionally boneheaded thing to do given their other big is currently out of the game with a hyperextended knee injury.
You don’t make that call then. No way you shift a game with that call. Terrible officiating

I’m not necessarily disagreeing with you, but they were on top of it really quick. Of course, College Park is one of those ‘BLEEP YOU REF!’ arenas, from waaay back.

Chuck Barkley just mentioned all the blue blood programs and said "and now you gotta put UConn there" when talking about visiting Rupp as a youngster.
Not that anyone is saying it, but you can count out Kentucky winning the national championship. Chuck predicted they're going to win it all.
