If I’m reading this correctly, seems like CT is mostly free of any significant ice totals. Southern states getting the worst of it?

I think rain/ice line was trending north the last few model runs, but I still think it may be too cold north of Long Island.

People's over reaction to a storm is usually worse then the storm itself. The news is essentially telling everyone to freak out. Be vigilant yes, but people seriously gotta calm down.

Yeah we all know that these storms are a conspiracy by the bread, eggs and milk producers to increase sales. I'd add more opinion but I got to get to the store

So, I survived for those of you who were worried. Lucked out in the first store. Also stocked up on snacks for the basketball games and football. Gassed up the cars, so I'm ready for the storm.

In the bullseye for a quarter to half inch of ice here in WNC. There will be a lot of power outages in the Carolinas. Very small possibility that the clean up post Helene might reduce some trees and branches falling on power lines.

Most people will hunker down hopefully. The biggest problem will be the inability of emergency vehicles getting to people in need.

Luckily I got my my big food shopping trip done the beginning of the week. Just did my little bit of grocery shopping, gassing up my car as well. Grocery stores on the verge of a storm are dangerous lol. Now you can relax while people freak out later on, I still gotta make a beer run a number 1 priority.

The psychology of the storms is interesting…

My mom broke her leg over Christmas Eve and she wants to come home from her rehab center today even though I’m pleading her to stay until Tuesday.

Anyways, I just left ShopRite to pickup groceries and while the store was fine, but all the parking lot space parallel to the borders of the store were jam-packed…but two columns to the left of the store, only half full.

People running stop signs and speeding way over the limit has become de rigueur in my neck of the woods in the last few years, so I can’t attribute today’s road observations to pre-storm craziness.

Yeah, you don't want heavy moisture snow/ice on the roof. But geting up on the roof to shovel is a real hazard.

Can't as temps here won't be above freezing so spigot on the roof is not gonna be good.

Anyway I have a 4' wall around so no issue for me as my plan is alternating 3" shoveling with him, so even if we get a foot, that's 2x for each of us, then I will use the shovel in between to dump snow to the alley.
