None of us are happy about where we are, but it is disingenuous to think SH and WM don't have a game plan. They have a lot of issues hanging in the balance, like that plate spinner on the old Ed Sullivan Show. It's great to have vision, but vision without execution is hallucination. They are fully aware of the stakes. I don't have to tell you there's a lot going on--just maybe not at the pace or with the publicity you'd prefer.

so then why did u post like a week ago asking for warde to come up or show his vision. w/e the post was...the last time u posted something i read it and knew the agenda u had. i think it was the fire or keep p stuff. i asumed that the warde vision post was the same thing as in u were alerting ppl warde was about to make noise. hes doing a grand ole job i tell ya. great job. im going to buy 10 season tix this year for me and all my friends becuase they will def want to go watch this team play every week. and they love how it may take 1 more year for uconn to be elite in bball again now that we go roasted by the ko contract on the trail. they are ok with what ko can do this year on the trail, but boy they would have loved it if we landed bell and xrm and were a f4 player next year. but its ok, they are still going to get tix to 4 to 5 games next year instead of season tix like we had all thru college. not a big deal. #bleedblue was a failure becuase he didn't investigate it, if he did he would know u either dont use it, or u own it. he has done neither. own it u ask? pump it so much that the other couple schools that loosely use it get so voiced over that there students drop it and it becomes uconns. but we didn't do that either so who cares, i love sharing things with like minded institutions. like #bleedblue, we share it with georgia frucking state. great!!!! i can go on for days. but becuase i come off as uneducated, that means every idea and point i have means squat. if a fan wrote of the ideas i had to alabama on a message board, the athletic department would buy him a beer and name him a position in the dpeartment for chrsit sake just based on his education level and dreams alone. up here, the elitest attitude has gotten uconn real far. congrats to them. keep on trucking away with the bullpoop and excuses. boston college is laughing at u.

I think the decision to retain PP (and, by association GDL) isn't REALLY being made by Susan or Warde. Larry McHugh is the president of the Board of Trustees, the guy who basically forced PP on Hathaway, Bob Burton be damned.
McHugh - ex-Xavier coach, member in good standing with our buddies the CT HS football coaches association - has managed to stay out of the limelight and keep his hands clean during all this nonsense (including yesterday's).
An intrepid member of the Horde should ring Larry up sometime and see what he thinks. Google "football coach" and "Board of Trustees" and any big-time I-A program sometime (make sure to add a school or you'll get a ton of Penn State hits). BOT pressure usually results in coaches leaving, here, in the bizzaro world of CT, it's resulted in a crappy coaching staying.

There are no longer football discussions - just fire everybody. Well we are NOT going to fire everybody, we have an upcoming season. Get over it.

A lot of brainstorming and attempts at humor go on here on a message board. Especially relating to macro issues like realignment, bad coaching, uninspiring administration, etc. And its the off-season (at least for Connecticut Football - has been for a while for some reason...).

What's so wrong about some joking about our current plight on a message board?

College and NFL football is all about the "old boys network" - not just in CT. South and Plains are just as bad as CT. It's how coaching staffs are put together. Not saying right or wrong - just pointing out it's not intrinsic to the bedrock of the Northeast.

prior to yesterday i thought hfd was crazy, out of his mind, a lunatic, but after yesterday's phony brush with salvation i see him as a true prophet, he's a long haired john the baptist standing in the river, typing in tongues, frightening all but a few devoted followers. the fire is indeed burning and we desperately need salvation.
