i have a million things i want to say right now. im in the 3rd quarter watching this game. my dad was texting me throwing out coaches names all afternoon lol and i posted 1 i thought was funny beans from him. anyway i have had enough. i jumped off the delone ride earlier this year as u know in a thread but was still hanging on to P. after watching halftime come i saw that this was it. to everyone else u were right, these guys can't get it done any more. i was wrong about P. maybe i just enjoy recruiting more than others and therefore saw a glimpse some didn't. i dont know... i'm not sure if RE would have this team doing much better at all considering what we have fwiw. i think we would have a better run game but no whitmer or davis types doing well so the O would be blah. but when has it not since we have been bcs? anyway, lets get after it this weekend.

i have about 15 arguments to make and i want to make them all under 1 movement but i'll keep it simple to a handful i think most of this fanbase can get behind asap. so i ask, are ppl here ready to make a statement that susan understands? if we do this right, the school will notice and take care of these issues. then we can save ourselves years of life like cuse and bc had to go thru. basically just cut the head off now and rebuild before its to late. or risk going for to long a time with major issues like cuse and bc did. our fragile and young fanbase can't handle it...

i'm purposing next week at homecoming the following
-all tailgate flags upside down on poles, also on your houses front door flags so neighbors ask and join
-go to your shop rite/cvs/stopnshop/whatever store u have local and buy a liquid chalk pen. these are everywhere and very cheap. we all need to express the movement. write on the your back car window #UConnNeedsChangeNow or #UNCN. if every tailgater does this it will catch on quick with the casual fans and students. students here need to read this and spread it thru campus. dont be lazy, pass on one bong for 15 minutes and do this. your the ones on campus. do u want to watch for the rest of your undergrad years on the field or watch something great? your choice. step up.
-wear your uconn gear inside out, rally hat etc...i know this is a stretch, but but the hoodie on next weekend inside out and tell everyone who asks or looks at u wierd and i bet many ppl join.
-the writing on the back of your car, do it early this week so people start seeing it driving around campus, going to work etc. spread it wildfire style. craigslist posts etc. flame that up
-ever heard of harley davidson the dealer? were going on a one week rampage to solve this issue basically doing it this style. if things are not answered then this can turn into a lenght month for uconn untill they get it.
-i think this all will send a message but it does not do the follwoing: 1 upset the kids buy not supporting them, 2 does not hurt he school $ wise right away. hurting the school $ wise is a long term thing for fanbases going thru years of issues, not our sudden issue. we still need to support the kids. i think this is a good start.

who is with me? take to twitter, facebook, news 12, horde writers any where you can. let them know its going down like this asap. write every local paper, leave messages on any uconn phone number you can etc. i'm talking a full out war this week.

If the follwoing are not solved or happening by friday, this fanbase will erupt
-PP and GD need to go as in monday morning. if houston can get rid of a OC like cake, then we can
-DB gets HC, HH gets promoted and find a young OC to come in who will recruit this winter as a long term answer.
-get midnight madness on SNY. sny has nothing better to play for that time slot. the mets have sucked longer than BCU for god sakes and are not in the playoffs. if sny is going to be our bball home which it seems they want to be, then this is part of it.
-plan and do a good school event for the uconn-msu game in mixing with the football game. its not hard to dream something up so figure it out. hint, tailgaters, jumbotron, sell out, fun events.
-who ever with the admissions process this summer, can them now! our bball team is the bread of this school. you can drop football right now and bball will for ever pay the bills for this state. did we have arp issues? sure. but we all know why those happened and how unfair they were but we also realize some things needed to happen/change. all good and fine. but a recruit who has us in his eye has a small trasncript issue. one that a few schools who are in confrences we would eat dog just to get into have said no big deal we want you. this recruit was given a ahh we have to look into it further and think about it. you know what he thinks of that? well i wanted to go there and i overlooked the job warde did with the KO contract and after i decide to give it a go they say maybe? well them i'm gona go to another school that clearly wants me. THIS SIMPLY CAN"T HAPPEN TO UCONN BBALL. no way about it. get this kid in or at least tell him he is in, it may be to late damage wise.
-KO gets a 4 year deal. end of story. u want to save your balloon knot warde? fine agree in terms where the buyout after each year is very cheap. KO will take it and we fans will appreciate it. recruits will then eat KO up as they want to knowing the saftey of the contract vs lenght of career at uconn.

if everyone here does this just for one week and shows uconn that this issue will not be supported by us, they will have no choice but to change. its simple. we all spend a lot of time here weekly. take 15 minutes of that and join this movement. we can solve this quickly and save our school we enjoy for many different reason longterm. so i ask, who is with me?

Dan, step away from the ledge for a minute. The odds that we fire PP midseason are slim and none. Now, I hope that at the end of the season he is let go and WM makes a move for an exciting hire. That being said, it's a two way street. We can't MAKE a successful coach or up and comer come here. Unfortunately, UConn isn't all that attractive as a football school. Sure we have great facilities, but UConn football is an afterthought to most CT residents.

And as far as loosening academics, I am and will always be against lowering standards for athletes. I take pride in my bachelors and master's degrees from UConn and wouldn't want to see them sullied by letting in someone not dedicated to being a STUDENT-athlete.

Does Stanford relax their academics for football players? They seem to be handling it OK. Even Notre Dame these days. As we saw with the McNeal situation (admittedly a little different since it was grad school) there is some flexibility. Just not like at an SEC school (and like Al I would be pissed as a UConn grad if we went that route)

If true it's a bad thing. You can relax on your jihad - this team is so bad this will take care of itself.

During the game in another thread I humbly suggested that folks pick a corner seating section of the RENT next week and all who want a coaching change or are unhappy with the direction of the program, wear white or yellow shirts and go sit together. The hoard will pick it up.

Change is not going to happen this year even if the whole state signs a petition but hey... I'm all for greasing the skids for GDL.

... And Dan, people won't remember what UNCN means... Need something catchier.

the catchy part is flags upside down on flag poles before games and hoodies inside out walking around the rent. its a distress signal from diehards fans that something is worng and everyone should take notice.

I don't know what you're talking about as far as killing the bball program. We need to have good students coming in to right the ship that has been off course for some time. No more Darius Smiths, Jamal Trices or Mandeldoves. Those guys screw over the program.

smith and trice were fillers when they came on a bad recruiting year where we needed to fill ships to hold a full roster. big time programs always make sure ships are filled at risk of injury etc... dove was a 7ft project that didn't pan out becuase he learned when he got to college that he could sit in his room and do w/e the he wants. them not going to class isn't a admissions failure. they had grades to go here, it was our staffs failure to not follow up on them going to class back then and then the ncaa came around looking for a pig and they found it. they are not admissions problems. admissions is creating recruiting probelms for us right now. once you do it to one player who is worthy, then the whole hs and aau team gets wind and it spreads quick.

Actually Dan I wasn't poking fun at you. My posts are generally to amuse myself.

I give you credit for the idea but it is way to complicated to get people to take that kind of action.

If just 500 season ticket holders sent an email, made a phone call and sent their ticket to the final game to Warde he would take notice.

The big donors are making noise. Why shouldn't we?
