What can Ollie do to get Daniels going? He's been lost for a while now, we can still get it done with other guys stepping up but we all know getting DeAndre going is essential for a deep run. We were getting him one on one matchups early on the wing and he seemed to rush it each time losing his footing. Seems like a lot of it is mental with him just wondering if there are any other ways we can maximize his effectiveness and get him out of his slump.

Well we beat the 11th ranked team without him (so to speak). Ollie is just running out of patience. I respect that Coach is not holding back when he sees 8-9 toes in.

Giffey comes with energy and the willingness to do something. Consequently Giff has allowed Ollie the flexibility to sit DD. He's a junior and unfortunately playing not much different than when he was a freshman.

So Ollie thinks the answer is not to play him.

DeAndre doesn't bring anything to the floor when he's not scoring. He doesn't play tough D, rebound, or make other players better.

its been sad to see him not toughen up during his stretch here.

Think he needs to focus on catching the ball in the low post or in the middle of the floor in a zone and trying to limit how much he moves with the ball. His handle is seriously suspect, and teams are starting to bear down on him and knock the ball away.

I don't think Ollie can do anything to get him going. Daniels is who he is and he is the only one that can find a way to make himself tougher and more consistent. Does he have it in him or is he just going to be another guy that could have, should have been better than he is?

He is lacking confidence, recommend coke and hookers. ;)

He just needs to pick a few things he knows he can do and do them well. He tries to do too much. He's more of a forward than a guard so he should do forward things. Ex/ short jumper, hook shot, 3s. Nothing where he dribbles because that is a liability.

well we're going to need him. This team is clicking, but theres a chasm between them and Calhoun + DD. Hopefully he can regain some aggressiveness

We've proven we can play good without him. I agree we will need his point production, but we pay hard defensively when he's in the game.

He scored the first point in this game and the SMU game, then he disappeared.

KO I think was frustrated with the three TO's and the wild reverse layup. He only played 15 minutes. However he did have 4 boards which was second on the team. We need him and the bigs, only three boards today, if we are going to make any kind of run.

One of the guys I attended the USF game with commented afterwards how disappointed he was with Deandre. This guy isn't a UConn fan, so at first I was impressed that he knew our team that well. He said he hasn't watched him at UConn much but watched him a lot when Deandre played at IMG in Bradenton. He commented that Deandre was a beast in high school and he expected so much more out of him.

I was one of the people predicting huge things for DD this year, I'll eat crow on that one. I think his injuries have to be affecting him though, he's better than he's performed the past month or so. Glad to see Ollie reward Samuel with a lot of minutes again today, especially at the expense of Omar 25% Calhoun.

DD just needs to "want it". I don't see that passion on him. We see glimpses. But all to often, he doesn't want to take charge. He'd rather just blend in. His quiet personality is apparent. There's got to be some way to get him out of his shell.

U know the thing about today's game was it started badly offensively for us once again. KO kept inserting players trying to spark us. Before half way through the first half we had played 10 guys. Then things started slowly improving and while this was happening the majority of the team had done something to feel part of the effort. To be honest I would like everyone see the floor every game. Deandre is not done!

Just what Ollie did. Put him on the bench and bring in a gamer - Terrence Samuel.

Deandre doesn't have to be the answer he just has to help. He can't let missed shots lower his energy level. It's mental toughness and determination that at this point he has to get right. No one else can do it for him. We are down to the end of the season and it is winning time. That's all that should matter at this point.
