DeAndre Daniels is a 195-pound sophomore playing out of position as a four in the Big East and people are seriously complaining about an 18-point, 7-board, 4-assist, 2-block night from him? As DeAndre goes, so does this UConn team, and last night it went home with a win in large part because of #2.
This team has very little margin for error. They need contributions from at least three and preferably four players. I'm with you that DD is playing out of position. I'm with those posters who think DD has the potential to be a special UConn player. But yesterday his defensive rebounding took a step back from the improvements he had made over the last three or four games. Part of the problem was the pushing that PC was getting away with and part was DD didn't mix it up as much as the recent pass. Not a big deal as far as I'm concerned because improvement is seldom linear.

The (very drunk) Friday night/Saturday morning before the Texas game I saw Majok at Sgt. Pep's walked right up to his goofy ass and said "dude you've been playing like , but just beat Texas." He laughed, gave me dapps and said "I will do my best man!" in his very thick African accent.

Best.moment.of.my.life.

I'm glad somebody got something positive out of that 2010 season.

DD has played well. If I'm nitpicking at this point, I would say his passing needs some work (high to low) and he needs to get stronger. He has made fantastic freshman -> sophomore strides.

Sorry but I didn't see it last night. He is a year or two away. We needed him to crash the boards like there's no tomorrow and he didn't step up. Points are fine but players have to recognized where they are needed and we certainly needed someone to get some rebounds. Had he got 10+ boards and no points I would say he played great (i.e. for that game situation). He did rebound stronger in the 2nd half, maybe Coach said something to him. He's good, and getting better. But no one played great tonight. Good yes, improved yes (OC), but great no. I don't think Ollie would disagree. We were lucky to win that game last night.

Daniels is our leading rebounder and had 7 last night even though his natural position is small forward. I'm hard pressed to criticize his rebounding. Now Tyler on the other hand.....

Deandre was real good when he had to be last night on the boards. He wanted to rebound and he did, his impact was easy to see. He's improved tremendously I think and will continue to do so. He is starting to get it and his confidence is rising so we should be pretty damn happy that kid's on our team.

Omar was good when he had to be too but man he can't handle or pass in traffic or against a press.....absolutely scary as of now!!
