I am not familiar with the source, but this is an interesting idea.
My instincts tell me "click bait", however, even if true, there are two factors that immediately come to mind regarding a potential match:
1) Being fully invested in her Philly roots, I don't know whether she (or Geno for that matter) would coach a NY team.
2) Dawn will continue to be true to herself, and, that being said, I can't imagine harmonious coexistence with James Dolan (on multiplfronts).
There is no way Dolan has enough money to get Dawn or Geno to make the mistake of working for him. The Knicks have bad ownership and as long has he owns the team it will continue. My instincts tell me "click bait", however, even if true, there are two factors that immediately come to mind regarding a potential match:

Didn't Becky Hammon go through several rounds of this before being hired by the Aces? This seems to happen each off-season. They probably want to add her to the short list as a feigned attempt at looking a female coach, but in reality there isn't interest on either front.
I doubt she ever takes it based on prior comments. She has made it abundantly clear that 1) she wants to help grow the women's game and 2) She enjoys pouring into athletes during their college years. Coaching a NBA team doesn't fit either of those criteria.

I'm still finding it hard to believe she owed all her success to an assistant coach. Of course Nakase was in Vegas last year and it wasn't a great season. Regardless, she got more out of that group of players than Laimbeer did and nobody can take the two Championships away.Yup….. and she’s not lookin like that coach right now
For those suggesting that Dawn would be more interested in moving into the W within ownership or upper management, the WNBA just announced further expansion in 2029 to 3 cities (including Philadelphia)...
It's not a suggestion. She made that statement during an interview with Kylie Kelce. With a franchise in Philly slated for 2030, time will tell if it happens. For those suggesting that Dawn would be more interested in moving into the W within ownership or upper management, the WNBA just announced further expansion in 2029 to 3 cities (including Philadelphia)...
Guessing you haven't seen the memes and videos about the topic on social media at the expense of the Knicks front office. Some of them have been pretty entertaining. How desperate are the Knicks to hire a College WBB coach?
Unnecessary. And as an African American, I’m actually offended.I could see her being hired as an assistant, but as a HC? I don't know nearly enough about the minutia of being a HC in the NBA - especially regarding personality, politics, etc., but I would think almost all the "good" current assistants in the NBA would be more qualified than Dawn.
Additionally, part of her schtick is her Philly speak hood accent, as well as her perpetual victimhood. Not sure that would go over well in the NBA (as opposed to a college women's team).
And look who the tweet came from: "being black is lit" and "essence of black culture". Perhaps it's just wishful thinking on their part that a black female would be considered for a job like that.
Having said all of that, I'd absolutely LOVE it. A youngish coach whose' team is probably the biggest competition at the moment vs. UConn for NC's... no way do they stay at the level they are if she leaves.
