No thanks...I know we recruited him originally but the guy didn't score a single point in the last 10 games he played in. Shot a red hot 18% from 3.

Shot 25% from the field, finished the year 2 for his last 34.

Batting .250 with a 2-34 stretch is pretty bad in baseball, nevermind basketball.

I wouldn’t write this kid off yet, he was a freshman. I think he’ll end up being a very solid player, especially defensively

Penn State has an open scholly. He might be a good fit there.

We don't need anymore 4th and 5th guards. I feel that's what we've been doing. JA is a 1 or 1A, Vital is a solid 3, I don't know what Gilbert is. No one else in the fold cracks the starting lineup for a vintage UConn team and most of them won't ever get to that level.

We need beef.

Take him if he wants to come. Part of the reason Hurley is such a big hire, is because of player development. He’s a strong 2 guard with a good handle, give him a year to develop.

I think the question is whether we think there's a better guard we can get next year. Because my gut says if we need another G for the last spot (and I'm not sure we do) I'd prefer a grad transfer and then find a similar type in 2019

No sense having another body who can’t play. I would rather have full compliment of players and let the famous Hurley practices sort out what the rotation will be.

I like Brendan Adams, but isn’t Beatty the better prospect?
According to 247 composite Beatty was a .9066 and Adams was a .9019 so better but it's probably a tossup

The reality is some guys coming out of High School can adjust to the speed and athleticism of the college game and some cannot. Some guys play well above their ranking because they don't need to utilize all their skills to be good in HS and when they get to college they realize they have more to give and have to try harder. Beatty has already shown that he's struggling with the speed of the college game. I'll take the younger brother of the unheralded recruit who blew up over the past few years over Beatty. Brendan Adams has the much higher ceiling in my opinion.

You say it as if he would be a guarantee to come here, we have Adams now and the additional year he gives us - we are good. And Adams most likely will end up as a 4 year guy something that's real valuable these days.

Kevin Ollie called it right with Beatty and didn’t recruit him. And the kid was a complete failure at USC.

So I’m thinking perhaps not.

Kid can’t play.

To be clear he would be like my plan E. I think we can do better
