Interesting, first I've seen ND linked with her. Any player that size described as a wing is intriguing.
 
She's got a lot of talent AND upside, and she likes UCONN a lot.
 
I'm not sure she's super highly ranked, but she's probably moving up. Geno went to watch her in some pretty bad weather.
 
I met Danielle and her dad when she was 11 at the CTK/Ossining game Saniya vs Sierra. She was 6'2 and a really nice girl. Her dad Lamont is a great guy. UConn is very interested in Danielle and she is very interested in UConn. She has multiple offers from a lot of big schools. NY friends tell me she is very high on UConn however just like other big names nothing is guaranteed. I like UConns chances right now...a lot.

UCONN wants her... that is probably why ND is now interested. Look at the ND girls UCONN recruited...ND has been stealing our thunder lately but we have been okay without those girls.
If I am not mistaken we went after Briana Turner, Kathrun Westbeld, Taya Reimer, and I could have thought some others...

And according to their website, Notre Dame claims to have been the winner of five straight conference championships (if you click on recruits it says that).... but is that true?
They won the 14-15 year, the 13-14 year in the ACC
They won the 12-13 year in the Big East...
But if I am not mistaken that was their first Big East Tournament win. So how do you get five? Unless they are counting regular season then the tournament, but isn't that misleading?

I suspect that ND is interested because she's a very good player. Truth is, ND and UCONN play similar systems so it is natural that they would often recruit the same players.
 
UConn recruited Reimer, Mabrey, Westbeld, and (incoming) Erin Boley. Both after Cox. I may have missed a couple. Geno got Katie Lou.

Danielle Patterson transferred from Medgar Evers to Mary Louis and also switched AAU team from Philly Belles to NJ Sparks.
 
Louisville is back to back years with NJ Sparks kids, don't count us out. ( Hines-Allen and incoming freshman Fuehring).

So what is the recuting pitch? Does Louisville tell the girls that every year they have a chance to be NCAA runner-up for a national championship?

Tony you have been talking about Patterson for a couple of years now.

I hope she likes UCONN enough to come up for a visit.

Did we really recruit Mabrey? I know we were involved with the others, but I don't recall Mabrey on our list.

I believe there was interest that never matured into an offer.

Mabrey made an unofficial visit to UConn in Sept 2010 when the USA Sr Nat'l team scrimmaged Australia at the XL. I think Moriah and Sara Hammond also visited that weekend. UConn stayed in touch for a while after that visit but eventually stopped pursuing her. It could be the staff sensed that ND was where she wanted to go.
 
Is UConn going after Patterson still? Are we even in consideration?
 
I thought a while back Patterson listed her top 4 teams which did not include UConn. I know Notre Dame was still on the list though
