Dan Hurley seeing strength in UConn men’s basketball numbers (Amore @ Courant)

I liked Floyd. I wouldn’t take him over Newton, Alleyne, or Diarra in the upcoming season, though. Maybe he’ll have a good enough four years that we’ll regret how it went down. Right now, I’d say we used his exit as an opportunity to upgrade.
I kind of agree, but we both know it is because we don’t know what CFJ can do. I’d like to think there is no chance he’s as good as Newton and Alleyne at this point. We shall see.

Diarra was a must. We needed a pg and I think he’ll pay huge dividends for us. He’s a junkyard dog.

I’d like to have Floyd over Alleyne and Diarra. Newton certainly is an immediate upgrade, but likely for just 1 year before he graduates. I was also a very big CFJ homer so am super bummed he left

Anyine tie names to the pix??

This is true, but Sool doesn't play for UConn anymore so he's not on the depth chart :)

I am terrified of CFJ terrorizing us for the next 4 years at Providence
CFJ’s handlers feel he should be gone to the NBA in 1-2 years so you can take a deep breath and relax

Even if he stays at Providence for 4 years, he ain’t gonna terrorize us. We will have superior talent. And this is not saying he’s a “bad” player. I bet he will be a good/very good player, but we will have better.

Samson looks at least 2" taller than Alex. AJ leaning hart to tell, might be about the same size as Newton and Hawkins. Adama looks like he might have grown a little. Alleyne seems to be our shortest non walk on. Nice to see such decent size across the roster.

Like the fact if we need to go small ball with this roster we won’t be throwing anyone out there under 6-2, 6-3. It’s been a while since we’ve had such big guards!

@navery12 I wouldn't count on Calcaterra playing much at all. He's a career 39% fg, 36% threes, 8 ppg in a far inferior conference.
Normally I’d agree but, if his job is to come in and hit shots, an open shot is an open shot; it shouldn’t matter what conference said shot is being taken in
