You do realize Brady is one of only two QBs ever to win the SB with two teams. Thats on top of his 7 rings. Let’s not minimize his greatness to make Beli the Brut look better. Cmon. What’s your thing for the miser? I can keep slapping numbers on you till you turn blue. Beli isn’t a great leader, he’s not dynamic. He’s prepared and detailed, yeah.

Belis advantage was pre technology when you could still go into the woods with your scout card and find some diamond in the rough and make them great. Once tech advanced and film/information was everywhere, he kept trying to be cute and just kept bombing draft after draft. There was a time to go chalk instead of trying to be smarter than the analysts, and technology.

The guy is a massive egomaniac.

As a diehard Patriots fan from 1976 through current, that was what I was saying to anyone and everyone who would listen in 2000-2019. Just enjoy the ride while it lasts. I did that in 2022-23 and 23-24. This past season was a challenge for everyone I feel like. As others have stated, let's just hope that we can enjoy the ride for as long as it lasts.
 
I tend to underplay the "serious"ness of this - he was just spinning and had to admit the team roster with Mahaney, Nowell, Abraham did not pan out... Diarra hurt and playing lead wasn't right, etc. No doubt so lowly self reflection but I doubt he seriously considered leaving.

I'd put it on a par with that moment of clarity a drunk gets after a rough go with their head in the toilet. Doesn't even mean they stop drinking for more than a few days.

I was fortunate to be able to attend one of the summer sessions at UConn in August. After the practice scrimmage we were given guided tours of the facilities, including the basketball staff offices. All of the doors were open and the staff were in their offices working. A group of about 10 of us were in the hallway when Coach Hurley appeared from his office and said to the group "Do you like the smell?" I thought it was a weird question, but I did notice that there was a unique smell throughout the building, like a high end air freshener. Hurley then explained to the group that over the summer that he and the staff had developed a plan to help the team with road trips during the season. The plan involves using a certain formula air fresheners in the Werth basketball facilities (he explained what was in them), and then using the same formula air fresheners in the hotel rooms of the players and staff for road trips this season. The concept is that this will help the players psychologically on road trips because the smell will be a familiar one and would help them more easily adjust to the road environment. I am posting this here because it's perhaps some insight into his mindset and focus. (He was incredibly gracious and friendly to everyone).

Research supports it too. The power of scent in building familiarity and reducing anxiety is well established in psychology and performance science.
 
This group of coaches, top to bottom, is the best in the country. Hands down. I would honestly feel comfortable with any as head coach, but love the courant setup. Built to win! Cant wait for Dan's book.

If scent didn't have it's effects, casinos wouldn't spend so much money on it, I'm sure. Mohegan always has that same scent, I've noticed.

Agree. Not every thought needs to be disclosed. It could have effects on recruiting. Keep those thoughts to your wife, dog and maybe your priest.

But if but take out cheaters and coaches that assaulted people there’s not much left besides JC, MK BD and Dan Hurley, who’ve won multiple championships. I’m sure I might’ve missed someone but it’s a very small club.

He’s working at a college with too many distractions ( young ladies). I really don’t think he’s taking this job seriously enough to be highly successful. He should have just retired because failing at NC will simply give the haters all the ammo they need to tear down his accomplishments in the NFL and add credibility to those who say his success was only because of Brady.

UNC wasn't a bad team. Bill came in and turned over the entire roster literally and their best defensive player left because of NIL. If UNC tanks, Bill will be gone by years end.

It's Bill the GM that failed him, not Bill the Coach. Brady was able to disguise a lot of bad drafts and trades.

In terms of the Brady vs Bill debate, it was 80-20 Brady IMO.
 
Danny needs to calm down on the sidelines a bit going after the refs. He literally cost us a few games early in the season in Maui because of his antics

I support his want to be vulnerable and admit certain feelings and thoughts that accompany them. It comes off genuine and there is supported research in the psychology of showing vulnerability when in sales.
