He's the son of the Big East's first commissioner Dave Gavitt. He's also the likely commissioner of the America 12 Cinference, or whatever it will be. Gavitt is a former coach at Providence and Athletic Director at Bryant. Currently he VP of the men's basketball tournament.

He's a basketball guy. I wonder why the new conference, ostensibly a football conference didn't go with. football guy.

I had it wrong. Gavit will be Commish of the Catholic 7/12/Big East; Aresco will be the America Whatever Commish. My bad.
