Uconn was trying to balance their OOC schedule and not play too many games in the ACC - when they agreed on the games with Maryland, they dropped UNC. Would not be surprised to see them back on the schedule at some point, but sort of like the rotations of OOC teams.
I do wonder who UNC added to replace Uconn - it seems Uconn was one of very few OOC games for them that was against a good team.

Probably somebody like Mercer, Eastern Kentucky, Samford

I would suggest they set up a series with Central Connecticut State Univ..... it would be their best chance at knocking off any Blue Devils for the next few years
