Crush Colgate Game Thread

Time to place a foot firmly on their collective throat.

This is true but this is now the 2nd year in a row we have heard he was the best player in practice. And he is already a pitbull on D. As is Anderson. It looks ugly right now but I'm looking forward to seeing him shake off there rust.

I'm very hopeful going forward which is why I said tonight. Just seems like he's been trying to force things.

These last couple minutes have looked like an actual UConn team though. Strong defense/running/second efforts

I told you Polley was a player and Whaley should be starting. I see things ahead of time. Whaley has enough size and athleticism don't worry about his weight. He plays with aggression.

You told us Polley should be getting Larrier's minutes. Larrier has 19 points.

Oh, and you also complained that Polley wasn't a UConn-level player.

Aggression gets you nowhere against Division I centers.

If Cobb+Polley+Whaley+Carlton+Williams+Diarra = 20 points and 20 rebounds a game, that's good for UConn.

I don't care about who gets what each game. Just have their sum be around 20/20.

I'd like to see Carlton establish position a little better and demand the ball. Seems a little tentative. Don't be a spectator.

Really really like the energy and enthusiasm. Yes, they need to clean up defense and get rotations better. But intensity is high. I'm optimistic!

And BTW Cobb is a beast...needs to be careful with his excitement...almost chestbumped Whalley into the 3rd row during that timeout!!!

Why is Gilbert out for so long?

Strange injury for Larrier. Just came up gimpy.

Not a great shot selection, but a smooth stroke by Larrier -- he looks much better tonight.

We may not have a true center, but the amount of length on our team is very encouraging. We will certainly have mismatches down low but we will take advantage of the length on the wings.

This team is just not the brightest. So many terrible terrible shots.

Hate to say it but Larrier looks like he's got an issue with his knee or maybe some kind of IB Syndrome. Hope not. Just get him to the trainer please.

Shot selection is a problem for Larrier, he cleans that up and he will be really good.

He has basically made every smart shoot and missed every bad shoot. The good shots are threes, layups and elbow extended and he has missed all his deep 2s. He is an excellent offensive player. If he can tighten up his shot selection we really have something.

Without thinking about that last bad shot, it's nice to see this team show a lot of good things from a lot of players in the absence of Jalen. So long as we see a strong finish, this has been a positive night tonight...
