Duke vs ND would be a tremendous match-up. I think the FF will likely include Duke this year instead of ND.

Texas not even in the bracket at this point.

California and Purdue as Stanford's two toughest opponents. Give me a break. What a cakewalk.

Tennessee in Baylor's bracket again? That would make three straight years.

I don't think the committee will be that cruel to the Lady Vols. Instead it will give them someone easy, like UConn.

I wouldn't count out ND for a #1 seed just yet. They may be as good as Duke and/or Stanford before all is said and done.

Even knowing that we have a lot of basketball left to play, a couple of interesting things farther down the brackets. First, he has Hartford in there. I know that earlier in the season, he had someone else -- Albany, maybe? -- representing their league. This seems more logical. Second, Pacific, our old friends from a year ago, are something like 10-2 and are thought to be the team to beat in their league. Makes me feel good.

I think it would 2 straight years. Three years ago they were a #1 seed and ND defeated them, then #1 seed UConn, and then were defeated by Texas A&M in the finals. As the Aggies eliminated the Bears that year, Tennessee couldn't have been in their bracket. But last year they definately were in Baylor's bracket, so it's one year possibly going on two.

It's possible, but it's really too early to tell. We'll know a bit more after Saturday. Stanford may not be as good as people thought, but we really know NOTHING about Duke. Their uncharateristically weak OOC schedule has left them mostly unchallenged (with UConn to come, of course), and their conference may be weaker this year because of Maryland's injuries. It's possible they could be like last season's Stanford team that posted a gaudy record against a much easier schedule than the other top 3 teams.

#1 seed Tenn lost to #4 seed Baylor in the E8 game in 2010. In the 2012 E8 game, #1 Baylor defeated #2 Tenn.

Creme vs. the AP -- here's how Charlie's top 4 in each region compare with the current AP rankings (in parentheses).

Bridgeport (sum of AP ranks: 28)
Connecticut (1)
Kentucky (6)
Maryland (8)
Oklahoma State (13)

Norfolk (sum of AP ranks: 36)
Duke (3)
Notre Dame (5)
Georgia (10)
South Carolina (18)

Oklahoma City (sum of AP ranks: 42)
Baylor (2)
Penn State (9)
Tennessee (12)
Florida State (19)

Spokane (sum of AP ranks: 40)
Stanford (4)
California (7)
Purdue (14)
North Carolina (15)

yikes that's as Fair and Bakanced as a Fox News report.

Why not swap Penn State and California? The Penn State gets a short trip to MD, California gets a shorter trip to CO, and you don't have California and Stanford in the same region?

Actually........ Baylor upset TN in the Sweet 16 in Memphis that year (2010)..... then they stunned Duke in the Elite 8 :(

I wish another western outpost would bid for games other than Spokane every year. Gonzaga was a good team last year.... but I doubt they beat Miami on a neutral floor.

One of my best memories is that leaner that Griner hit in the lane. I thought that was one of the biggest shots in her career.

There really needs to be a dislike button here on the boneyard

If Krystal Thomas doesnt foul out of that game... if they were a bit more ...... well.... Duke gets smashed by UCONN in the final 4 instead of Baylor.

. . .
Bridgeport (sum of AP ranks: 28)
Norfolk (sum of AP ranks: 36)
Oklahoma City (sum of AP ranks: 42)
Spokane (sum of AP ranks: 40)

Using the Sagarin rankings gives:

Bridgeport - 30
Norfolk - 53
Oklahoma City - 30
Spokane - 56

Cal cant play @Boulder since CO is now in the PAC-12 with them.
And the idea is to keep teams near home for the Regionals - so Cal goes to Spokane.
