Oh well already won the chip as a 7 seed let’s do it as an 8/9

Hope we’re in the East with Duke, maybe Flagg won’t be back by next weekend.

It's ridiculous. He goes up and creates body to body contact and NEVER gets called. I'm glad he's gone after his 6th or 7th year, whatever it's been.
I’m sorry but I couldn’t disagree with this more. A defender is allowed verticality to challenge shots. Our drivers are imitating contact. We watched Clingan do this all last year and Emeka and Jake were especially good at it as well.

Are you nuts, those aren’t bunnies, those are extremely difficult shots over a 7 footer…which is why he shouldn’t be taking them in the first place.
You clearly don't know what I'm talking about.... I'm talking all season, not a particular play. He doesn't attack the rim with aggression. He's 6'7" and strong. I'd like to see him finish strong and less finesse. I'm not talking about drives, but on rebounds and in close action.

Not the reason we lost, but Kalk only getting called for 1 foul with all the contact he made with our guys driving in the lane for layups sums up the BE refereeing issues nicely.
He's so good at going up vertical and is so known for that, that he gets the benefit of doubt on a lot of 50/50 calls. It also helps that he rarely has any egregious ones.

We still had plenty of chances to win the game. But our offense wasn't up to it in the last five minutes.

Yes, we played poor defense. But they shot out of their minds in the first half 75%. then we gifted them four point to start the second half. WE still were with a possession or two multiple times - with the ball - in the second half and we couldn't get it done. score in the 60s and you lose.
No. The defence was the problem.

I was ready to support Creighton against St. John's until the last play.... Now I hope they are destroyed.... all because of the unsportman like conduct of one player.

Also the refs need to get better. A lot of botched calls... and a lot of no calls on Kalkbrenner or however it is spelled. When McNeeley and Karaban went it and were hacked and there were no calls... it just ruins what should be an enjoyable game to watch.

Danny needs a major influx of athleticism this offseason. These players are just not fast or tough enough to win the physical battles. Lost 3 in a row in Maui. Looked tired and slow tonight on a back-to-back. You're forced to become a perimeter team putting up jump shots on tired legs.

It's not. Look at the team and tell me who the best defender is. I'd say Reed or an injured Hass. When you don't have the defenders, no amount of coaching will help. We're smaller and less athletic than previous years. It's team construction, not coaching.
Creighton has way less natural ability than UConn and they play much better defense. UConn had so many gifted defenders the past few years. Now we don’t have that level of defense talent and this is where you need clever defensive schemes and it’s not there.

Biggest reason for losing was allowing them to shoot 75% in the first half and it had a lot to do w Reed sitting w two fouls. Pretty hard to miss shots that are a few feet from the hoop especially when creighton found favorable matchups to exploit. That clearly was their gameplan until Reed stopped the nonsense in the second half. It’s frustrating we’re this deep into the season and the coaches are still a step slow to figure out which big to play for certain matchups. Maybe not as frustrating as some of the terrible calls from the refs and that bush league dunk at the end of the game. Glad Hass reacted the way he did. I hope McDermott lays into that kid for being disrespectful.

Anyways, let’s put that game behind us and bring on the tournament where they should make some noise.

For a down year coming off back to back titles, I’ll take it. I think our staff got more out of this roster than a lesser staff would.

Won’t be a popular take, but I need our 5th year senior leader to keep his head there. The games over, everyone could see it was classless showboating, starting a fight over it makes us look bad.

Another unpopular take, there should be a serious discussion about Liam’s role and ceiling. Talented kid, needs to stop forcing terrible shots. His game today reminded me of Illinois taking it to Clingan.

Not enough heart from players and coaches. All season was like this where they would play hard on the defensive end. That is what is missing from last years team along with a killer instinct

Well, on the bright side, now the staff has free time to go see Abdou Toure play for back to back state championships tomorrow night. We need a player like him that punishes the rim.

Karaban having an atrocious all around game the night after having one of his best of the season is rough. Refs were awful but we just made way too many errors and could never hit the big shot when we had chances. We are what we’ve been all year; maddeningly inconsistent
