I'm all for it if it's done right and the fans don't charge the court when the players are still on the court. What just happened in the Wake storming really pisses me off. They all charged the Duke players. It looked way more like an attack on the Duke players than celebrating a big win.

I'm calling it now, this will either end court stormings or they will only be allowed once the players are all off of the court and you create some sort of tunnel with security. If Filipowski is hurt over this it's just awful.

Yeah I played the replay over a couple of times. One idiot sprinting down the court jumps into Filiposki's chest and he limps off immediately. Much worst than Caitlin Clark's pseudo flop against Ohio State a couple of weeks ago.

Only a matter of time before a player or fan is seriously injured. Didn’t see it but did Flipowski get hurt as a result?

I couldn't tell what happened to Filipowski watching live--probably an ankle. Hope he feels better... kid is talented.

It wouldn't surprise me if they started making rules against court storming and enforcing them more aggressively. As always, stupid people ruin fun things.

I don't want it to go away because it's great for fans and it showcases the excitement of college basketball (it looks awesome on TV) but you gotta protect the players. Do it like Creighton did it the other night, line both sides with security and allow the players to get off the court.

Players and coaches on the losing team need to be aware. I thought everyone handled the Creighton storming perfectly.

If you just stand in the middle of the court like Duke did today, you’re opening yourself up to more potential consequences.

Every school should have a plan and execute it. Have security/ushers escort the players to the handshake links and then allow the kids on the court. Or wait for the handshakes to end

If you start reading the game thread on page 52 of WF MB it will give some perspective on what true Duke haters are really like.

Holding an exhausted 19-year-old accountable for knowing to run off the court in a close loss seems like a stretch. Having security available to shelter like they did at Creighton is a better option.

I watched it several times and couldn’t tell exactly what happened. There was a collision but it didn’t stop the momentum of the fan yet it resulted in filipiwski crying out in pain and needing to be carried off. Maybe he got his ankle or foot stepped on.

It seems that they got on the court fast but the Duke player didn’t seem to be in a big hurry!

Not sure what happened at the creighton game but it looked like they set it up perfectly to make sure no UConn player … Creighton fan interaction occurred. The Creighton players celebrated with them after the hand shakes.

Not cool. Players including home team, should be running football style to the exit though.

They were up 4 and then Wake called a timeout I think? The game was well over with 2 seconds or whatever to go. Everyone should've subbed out hugged the touchline as close as possible and security should've setup their wall.

There was time still on the clock when several students were already on the court. Do you want them to leave the court before the game ends?

Seriously, this shouldn't be hard. There's actually some people blaming Filipowski when he of course did nothing wrong. Just hold back the students at least until the players are off the court.

I hope there isn't an overreaction. Don't ban it, just do it right and it should be a simple fix. It's great for the promotion of the sport and college hoops already doesn't do enough to promote the sport. These buildings are all full of security and ushers. Use them as a barrier and take the 10-15 seconds to get the players off the court.

If you want to make the case against court stormings, Duke's big man spraining his ankle is not it. The possibility of a serious injury or a fight breaking out might get me to ban it, but Scheyer whining about it after he designed a play for his seven footer to be as far away from the tunnel as possible - with zero shot of winning the game - is just music to my ears. These things by definition are never neat and orderly, so if you have to wait until 20 minutes after the buzzer to do it, you might as well not.

If Vegas had given odds on which program would end up getting court storming banned I think Duke woulda been the favorite. How much ya wanna bet filipowski doesn’t miss any time with his “sprained ankle”? If I’m proven wrong I’ll happily own up to it.
