CT Post has the story too: LINK

"UConn interim athletic director Paul Pendergast has withdrawn his name for consideration for the full-time position, but will remain with the university in a fundraising capacity, according to a news release."

Maybe fundraising is more his forte. Can't hurt to have a nationally connected AD come in and help get us into a new conference.

This is the right move. Let him concentrate on what he does best and bring a pro in to run the department.

+1 ... and I have confidence in Herbst to find a good fit for UConn's plans going forward. This could be a win-win.

He was hoping to have a shot at the permanent job, but I don't think that was ever truly in the offing.

Not sure if it's more Tom Izzo or the Michigan State AD, but MSU is always doing creative stuff. Would love to get an AD like that.
