Although now a moot point because of his retirement...Reese's selection of Jay Bromley from Syracuse (who will become another statistic in Jerry's mid-round draft failure column) over LB Chris Borland from Wisconsin was a perfect example of what he thought of the LB position. He took a avg at best D-tackle from a losing program over a high performing LB from a quality B1G program who was a tackling machine. I would of rather had the Borland performance/retirement issue to deal with than the pitiful production Bromley has given.
 
Alford is a stretch he made 1 tackle during the regular season and 5 combined all year in his rookie year. He played 2 seasons in NY and was out of the league after 1 more year in Oakland.

Ahmad and DeOssie were great picks.

Alford will always be remembered for this
