Lol, way to double down, but I’ll pretend that you’re actually seriously confused. Yes, they wanted a D1 football school, because they are a P-5 conference, but they also wanted a D1 football school in the NYC DMA so that they would get access to first tier of cable at a premium price.As opposed to Seton Hall?
No one thought Rutgers was an add that needed to be made for anything to do with basketball. Even more than the location, Rutgers came in when the conference was trying to build a critical mass of football schools.
I mean, seriously, you understand that the P5 conferences are football conferences so Seton Hall wouldn’t be considered right? And you don’t seriously think that big 10 schools thought they needed Rutgers to “bolster“ their football product, do you?
