Thanks to all my friends. And to you folks too.
(Maybe the little guy will inherit the smart-ass gene.)
I wasn't expecting anyone to post anything, but thanks. I'll let you know tomorrow on the name, once Ryan and Emily decide. The little guy was 6 lbs., 9 ozs., delivered by C-section at 12:22 today in New York City. He looks precious, as they all do at that age.
This is my first grandson. My older son in OC has 2 daughters. I was at their 6th and 8th grade graduations about 2 weeks ago. The 6th grader was a graduation speaker. Since she has not had a growth spurt and has a 4'11" mother, she had to stand on a stool to see the audience. She may be small, but on the soccer field she is not averse to using a well-placed forearm. Think a miniature Caroline Doty.
This is great. Now that I am retired, I can live the life of DoggyDaddy et al. I wasn't sure I was ready to become a grandparent at 50, nor was I sure I was ready to become a father at 19, but things happen.
His first gifts from me will be "The ABCs of Golf" and a stuffed bear wearing a Merion sweater. He'll likely get a Husky soon as well. I'll work with him so his first words will be "Maya Moore."
