Concert you want to see - 2025

Was at Cheap Trick - Rod Stewart show Saturday night.
Cheap Trick: always such a great live band. Infectious, fun songs. In past years Robin's son played some guitar and sang a bit. Not this time. Rick Nielsen can still play at about 78 years old. Robin's high range on the Flame is sadly now gone.
Rod Stewart: the man is 80 and he's out there running around and can still sing. His band is interesting as he has these attractive and talented women singing and playing all sorts of instruments. Mandolin for example. Rod's scratchy voice holds up with age, he could never hit the clean high notes anyway.

Audience was old, even for this semi-old person.

Was perusing the Fairfield Theatre Compnay schedule for the upcoming weeks. Looking forward to seeing Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band there on September 6.

But I kept looking ahead and decided to click a name to see who he was. Now I am sitting here wondering how the hell i never herd of the excellence that is Willie Nile.

He will be in Fairfield on Friday, September 26. At age 77 I am sure he is a shell of himself but videos show that he still can rock. Very Dylanesque vocal.

I'll be at The Space Ballroom this week. The opening act has a new album coming out...

Geordie Greep at District Music Hall in Norwalk aka the former Globe Theater.

Wild and weird show: what if Frank Zappa were a lounge lizard? Calypso vibes countered with black walls of sound. Heady stuff.

I’ll be back here next month for Jeff Tweedy.

Anyone score Foo Fighters? Maybe @ElGuapo called in a death threat to increase his chances of getting tickets lol

Hayes Carll was amazing at the Space Ballroom this week.

Willie Nile was so good at The Fairfield Theater Company this week.

Styx was excellent Saturday night at the Durham Fair.

Anyone else catch David Byrne last night at Oakdale? Fantastic multi-media show and the band was fire. Two hours flew by.

I know I should wait for the 2026 version of this thread, but I just bought two tickets to see Rush in Chicago next July. Probably my favorite band ever. I've seen them a couple of times before and never thought I'd get a chance to see them perform again. Tickets were crazy expensive, but I'm psyched to be going.

Jeff Tweedy was fantastic last night in Norwalk. I really like his new album and most of the set centered around the new stuff. One of the best shows I’ve seen at that theater.

I had no idea the P-Furs were still performing. I used to do a killer Richard Butler back in the 80s karaoke era. I imagine Butler's voice is fine since he only had a one octave range to begin with, lol. I understand he's lived in CT for years.

Tried for Rush pre-sale this morning with Citi Bank account, never seen tickets disappearing so fast right in front of my eyes (didn't get any, so will have to wait for the regular sale in a week)

I live in San Jose and had originally bought tickets to see them in Chicago. Then they announced shows in San Jose, so I just bought those via the artist Pre-sale. Now I have to unload my Chicago seats. I'm super excited, but have to keep reminding myself that the show isn't for another year.

Are they playing at the SAP Center/Shark Tank? Never went to a concert there for some reason. Saw a few at Shoreline.

You are correct, they'll be at the SAP Center. I haven't seen many shows there as many of the big acts play at Shoreline, which is where I saw The Who last month.

If you like a fun show I can't recommend Los Straitjackets highly enough. They're 4 luchadors who play surf music. All great musicians, especially the drummer. They close with an awesome rendition of Sing, Sing, Sing!
