Usually at this part of the off season I am already anxious / worried about this year's team. For whatever reason I feel really good about our prospects for #13. I have looked into my crystal ball and don't see any significant injuries - only a fabulous combination of seasoned players and an awesome phalanx of new faces.
This is going to be a great year, enjoy it! (and don't fret)

I am completely comfortable with this years team . In fact I am confident in this years team. I have already posted that Uconn will again be undefeated in the BE and another championship. I posted Uconn will be undefeated in the OOC games and then I posted 6 more wins and NC 13. This is Uconn's strongest team since 2016 and I have the it's Fated that Uconn will win NC 13. GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!

I agree.. I feel great and super confident about our squad next year. God forbid (knock on wood) should there be any major injuries, we now, finally, have backups and players who can step up. Im telling you, if Ashlynn Shade were playing for any other team in the country, she would be averaging at least 22 ppg... That's how good we are right now.

It happens again and again... a Team wins the Championship and then goes into the next year with the HIGHEST expectations...so high that they claim to be "completely comfortable"... There is a LOT of time, practices, games, airplane trips, road trips, and so much more between Now and the start of the 2025-2026 season...and the next NCAA Championship tournament. Every day, every practice, every game, every plane or road trip, etc are opportunities for the Unknown and Unexpected to rear their ugly heads and bust the MOJO... I encourage all UCONN Fans to return to their normal "concerned" and "skeptical" selves.... and not tempt the MOJO.

Mojo or no mojo, it takes time, like @PAHuskeyFan says. Nothing is clear in June or November, much less February, as last season ought to have taught all of us. Except for @Tonyc , who knew all along.

Geno said he didn’t know until the first win against SC that he had winner on his hands. And he dates it to the Tennessee game, which brought the team together as a unit. I don’t know when it will become clear to Geno this season, since we don’t even have a schedule yet. But my guess is he’ll know sometime in February. But we’ll be talking tough from now until April.

And about that mojo, as a certified mojo-ologist I can confidently affirm that the quickest way to lose mojo and provoke the karma-demons is to cringe in the face of a challenge. They hate sycophants and favor the bold, as the old proverb says. As Edna Mode famously said: Fortune favors the prepared, and Geno knows how to prepare his players better than any Coach in the land.

No ASH would not average 22 per game on any top NCAAT team. She does have an aggressive attitude on scoring, but she also does so many other things that would prevent her from being that type of scorer-like being a fiend on defense which expends a lot of energy, she also rebounds which too, expends a lot of energy. When you write your novels, do you perform any research? Please go ahead and now qualify how that is not really what you meant.

You were doing so well there, until the last two sentences. Yes, preseason prophecy is not typically based on data analysis. It’s much more about optimism and exuberance. Can you picture some guy in a turban going into a reverie and quoting stats? “In my crystal ball I see a data table!” No, I’ll just ignore the insults, or maybe treat it as something Don Rickles might use in his act. Instead I’ll focus on the praise you give to Ash: she does a ton of stuff, much of which is not apparent from basic stats. I admire her, too. Always have.

By the way, I do a ton of research for my novels. You’d be amazed what goes into one. I’ve got one based in the USNA, another set on an LHD stationed in Sasebo, another one set in Beijing and Wudang. The research is a lot of the pleasure in writing them.

I never said exactly that she would average that many points in a top program from the power 5 conferences. I meant like if she were to go to Syracuse, Vanderbilt, Fairfield, even some mid major schools. I really believe we literally haven't seen Ashlynn unleash her full game yet. She can shoot, drive the ball to the basket, defend, and make smart choices. I don't know, just my humble opinion and observation

I was confident of what the 2025 team would become in March/April and I didn't let spotty play or losses change that. This year I expect high level play out of the gate. But it's June.
