"AO single handedly won us a NC in 2011"..........."sure fire AA now, who possesses reliable hands and can dominate the paint with a smooth offensive skillset and a ferocious demeanor that demands respect! I don't know much, but I'm sure he's a safe bet for NBA stardom!!! "............

Any of those items above close? No not at all so "undeniably true" can only be seen by a very few who were in love with the kid being a Husky and not the actual player. Again buslaw, he was a pretty good kid for 2 years but there's no denying he was an awful captain who had a terrible year for a guy who should have been stepping up and becoming the man.....he did not improve and that's on him. His hands were the worst missing passes and many caroms that came his way. He whined on Twitter, showing no respect and acting nothing like a captain of the defending National Champs should and that's on him. Sick of the thought that Andre coming in had anything to do with it because if you really look at the facts, which I know you and a couple cxhosen others don't, other teams were worried about Andre a lot more than Alex so he should've lived like a King on the weakside but he didn't. He didn't work for rebounds, he didn't work to make his back-to-the-basket game any better as it was atrcious. He's gone and you know what, UConn will be better for it no matter how the season goes. His whining and attitude, coming up small in big games against smaller teams, are history and it's not a bad thing. UConn didn't have big men who were real consistent or real good last year, none of them stepped up. Were they better w/o Alex, not really they had noone to bring in big enough. Were they better with him in there? No because he couldn't guard anyone, rebound or make a play on offense so people would worry a little about our interior so our guards could have more freedom, especially Jeremy.

Mizzou gets a guy who can play 20 minuutes and do a little work on the inside but it won't help them get by an easy 1st round oppoenent. UConn loses a 7 and 5 guy, there's plenty of them and most of them will be happy to put on a Husky uni and be prud and not whine.......Heck FJ can give them those numbers from the guard slot!! LOL

Talk about deluded. You believe he sucks and a bunch of coaches of ranked teams thinks that his trouble coexisting on the floor with Drummond might not have been mostly his fault because they want him for one year. I know you think you're right and the coaches are wrong, but wouldn't a rational, or even slightly humble, observer believe that Frank Haith's opinion is more valuable than his? If AO ended up at Hofstra, at least I'd have the ability to understand that my believes were probably wrong.
 
Alright bus I'm delluded....he was a real good player last year and somehow I missed that....he rebounded the ball real well and somehow I missed that too.....his hands are like Freddy Bilitnekoff and somehow I think otherwise.......Andre's arrival killed him......you got it I'm delluded?


Your assumption that these guys are all drooling over him is laughable.....it's teams who are much like the Huskies looking to fill in a big mans roster slot and hoping to get the guy who plays every 4th game decent......lightning in a bottle from a big guy and there's not many others available this late........but I'm orobably wrong and you got it right because he was such a stud for the Huskies this past year...
 
If you think anything in your posts are consistent with the conclusion that a coach of a Top Ten team wants to bring him in to help them, you are delusional.

AO had a disappointing year. Some of the blame for that is absolutely on him. But you can't pretend Mizzou would want him if he was one tenth as bad and evil as you and a handful of others are making him out to be.
 
Your dellusional if you think any of those teams think they're getting a potential All American with good hands who they expect to give 30 minutes to.....He's better than anything left and a great rental for Haith and Mizzou.......I get you like him but he was a huge disappointment so can you please admit that? That way I'll know you watched games this year.....;)

Sorry buslawyer, but your infatuation with AO is borderline inappropriate. Ya some big programs are/were interested in AO, but it was based purely off potential and nothing to do with his play (or lack thereof) this past season. Plain and simple mauconn is just speaking the truth, he doesn't wish any ill harm to the kid, he's just reiterating what we ALL witnessed this season.
 
Oriakhi has to have been one of the most talked about Huskies of all-time during his three years here. For some people (MAU), Oriakhi couldn't have gotten out the door quick enough. Others like BUIZLAWER respect him as one of the toughest Huskies of all-time who manned the middle during one of the craziest runs of all-time. I would say the truth lies somewhere in between. Couple observations:

--I think anybody who is happy Oriakhi is transferring is crazy. Olander and Roscoe are nice players, but there is a gaping whole in the middle right now and a glaring lack of bulk. Alex got away from his forte this season (rebounding, defense, leadership) and instead thought he was going to dominate games putting up 15 and 10. Unfortunately, he doesn't have the skill required to coast through games like that. That said, if he returned for his senior year with a fresh attitude, I see no reason he couldn't have had a bounce back year averaging close to a double double. The paint would have been his, he would have been the enforcer. Alex would have been happy, the team would have been happy.

--IMO, the way he handled himself on and off the court last season was extremely disappointing. He has his shortcomings, but he has the body of a man playing a child's game. Even if he wasn't going to score 20 points a game, I think he could have easily paired with Drummond to form the most physically imposing frontcourt in the country. Why those two didn't just attack the boards and take away the will of smaller opponents is beyond me. He came into the season with a sense of entitlement, as evidenced by his twitter rant in November. Alex attempted some damage control at the end of the season with the "all in" sthick, but ultimately, I don't think his heart was completely in it. If his heart was in it I think he would have at least waited more than a week after the season was over to transfer, or until the appeal was denied. So, the way his career ended left a bad taste in my mouth, and it saddens me to see somebody who I thought was a Husky for life jump ship. While I can't murder him for wanting a chance to play in the tournament in his senior season, it would have been honorable to stick out the storm with the coach that won him a national championship. That said...

--At the end of the day, the kid was the second or third best player on a team that won the national championship. Say what you want about the guy, but this is what will first come to mind when the name "Alex Oriakhi" comes up in conversation. He's an impossible kid not to like, he's smart, and he represented the University extremely well. If he was going to transfer, Mizzou was probably the best fit for him. I wish him luck and thank him for all that he did here, although it's really going to blow when David Stern or Adam Silver announces, "And with the nth pick in the 2013 NBA draft, the Miami Heat select, Alex Oriakhi, out of the University of Missouri". If that won't bother you, you're lying.

You really think the two choices are the venom filled attacks you are making and All American? As opposed to just a young man who was a good player and couldn't adjust to a change in his role? If so, you are delusional.

Please do everyone a favor and quit the BS "change of role" it's a joke.......there was no change of role NONE.....he's a freakin big man asked to play tough on other big man, create some space on O and score and rebound the basketball like a man......whether you want to say he was a "4" or "5" fine, he's a GD basketball player who needed to play like one and didn't.....I'm done but enjoyed every minute of your support for Alex.......maybe you should follow..........
