I get that AK has the ultimate green light, but maybe stop taking deep NBA threes early in the shot clock when you're cold as ice. 1/9 from the field, 1/7 from three. He did not play like an All American today. 6 points, 6 rebounds, 0 assists in 28 minutes. He's better than that.

Also, our two big men have now both fouled out in consecutive games.

Totally bummed I'm 14 hours ahead of this in the far east and won't have the pleasure of reading this thread with all the reasonable, rational takes.

It's obvious Hurley doesn't have what it takes any more to lead a program with national championship aspirations. The yoga interviews with Bilas and crap like that need to stop and he has to coach the team.

Hopefully Benedict is on top of this and can do the right thing.

Half glass full take - Emerged from this game is Nowell.
He played with confidence, the poise, the assists and the drive thru the lane with scoring ability and more importantly stout defense. Hurley needs to roll the dice and use Nowell ahead of Mahaney going foward.

Nothing short of a pathetic showing here in Maui. We lost to the tougher team each game. Hurley goingnin the media and railing on the refs does 0 good, and he looks like a huge baby. Focus on getting your damn team ready to play defense, pass the ball and rebound the ball. They genuinely look like a team that doesn’t practice defense. We just lost to a mediocre team, yes, a mediocre team. There is not one player that should be proud of the way they played defense. Terrible basketball.

I'm ready to watch this lineup shrink to 8 players.

Samson gets very few minutes, and Ross gets basically none.

Starters: Reed, Karaban, McNeeley, Ball and Nowell.

Main bench players: Diarra and Stewart.

Spot minutes: Samson and Mahaney (Calcaterra minutes).

Ross and Singare for garbage time, if there ever is any garbage time.

Live or die with Nowell at this point.

Diarra taking a shot to win it is just comically bad. McNeeley with 2 awful passes didn't help either at least one we ended up scoring. This team can't guard at all. If we don't beat whoever we play next and beat Gozaga and Baylor i'm not sure were we will be. Mahaney needs to go. What was Dan Hurley thinking when he got him? He is too tiny to guard anyone. We needed a bigger guard in the Portal. We were already undersized with Nowell, Diarra and Ball. Mahaney makes them look like Lebron in size.
