Pheesa lighting it up....seems like folks should be watching the head to head to see who the real ROY is....

This head to head is not going to change the minds of anyone.
Pheesa with a lot of positive stats on both ends of the floor and 0 TO. Arike with really explosive plays and can get to the line at will but enough misses and TO's to illustrate her limitations. And she got a Techical Foul and Pheesa drained the FT. :)

It pretty much epitomizes their stark contrast between efficiency and volume:

Pheesa: 19 points, 6-11 FG (51.5%), 4 steals, 0 turnovers, 2 fouls
Arike: 22 points, 6-14 FG (42.9%), 2 steals, 5 turnovers, 4 fouls

Also, I didn't see the game but we already know who played the better defense. :)

Last but not least: 86-70. One player makes her teammates better, the other player sucks the life out of her teammates.

Collier certainly did not hurt her chances.

Pheesa is getting her interior game humming like her UConn days. And her 7-7 FT's (with no rim huggers) show she is relaxing more and more. When her outside shooting gets more consistent, watch out.

Dallas is BAD -- not going to win many games when two starters (both from Tennessee of course:rolleyes:) combine for 0 points.

Dallas is two different teams. A decent team at home (8-6) and an awful team on the road (1-13).

Pheesa was +13, while Arike was -19.
Pheesa is the better player, but the league rewards scoring, so I don’t expect her to win ROY. On the bright side, Pheesa is the only current rookie with a chance of playing in Tokyo next year.

I've long held Collier is the ROY, but comparing the two, even in a game they play against each other, is nearly impossible since they play two very different positions for two very different teams. As an example, Kaela Davis is probably Dallas's best bench player. Last night, Seimone Augustus came off the bench for Minnesota.

Actually, Seimone did not have a good game and Davis had a strong game off the bench.

This particular game was actually about as ideal as possible to see and contrast the strengths and weaknesses of both players. It depends on what each individual fan / analyst appreciates more.

Yeah my point was not about the specific game per say, but an indication of the talent differential between the teams, where MN has an Olympian (past her prime yes, but still) coming of the bench, and Dallas' best bench player averages 6ppg on 32% FG shooting.
