Dyson is probably one of the best athletes to put on a Husky uniform. Not many guys can say they went toe to toe with Derrick Rose and John Wall in their college careers.

Jeff Adrien is probably the toughest to ever put on a Husky uniform. Did not want to be on the other side of those bows.

John Thomas and Tim Coles would beg to differ on the toughest ever.

Well, regardless of the comps of former players to former players, we tend to do well recruiting shooting guards from Georgia.

.-.
Oriakhi might be a decent comp as slightly less tough than Adrien was nonetheless a tough forward that escaped the Ollie regime

I hate to say this but Hurley is going to have to take a page from Pitino’s shopping habits. We need some physical thugs with skills and the staff can mold them from there.

We need some of that, but keep in mind Pitino’s team is a 5 seed for a reason despite having the number 1 portal haul. Hurley just needs balance in his roster.

I'm eager to see how we perform in this year's Tournament performance before declaring that we need to completely change our roster philosophy.

I think it's clear that our roster is not ideally constructed for the Big East in the way that St. John's's is. We overcame that in 2023-24 by being so much better than everyone else that it didn't matter.

For the last 4 years we've generally acquitted ourselves very well outside of the conference.

If we look good again and make a run to the Elite 8 and show ourselves to be competitive with the top teams out of conference, then maybe we just decide that we're OK being disadvantaged in the BE while knowing that we're going to be fine in March.

If we continue to stumble, then maybe it's the case that we've been figured out, aren't improving over the course of a year, and some evolution in approach is warranted, both for in-conference and out-of-conference success.

More tattoos!!

Hurley has been going with a real homogenous style - bunch of nice guys with no cajones. I'm honestly surprised he doesn't have the sense to realize that. Having some diversity of personality makes a team better.

Takes cajones to go over the middle in football. Landrew was recruited as a possession receiver and loved contact (what 6’6” receiver doesn’t) so he definitely brings it next year.

I suspect Hurley thought that 1 of Malachi/Silas/Mullins/Solo would make the leap and be a consistent threat to finish at the rim. They didn't, and that's why we've struggled.

Agree, but one key difference is that because of Mike Repole, they can miss on guys they spend big $$ on and have it not really matter.

Huh? Were Andre and Spencer nice guys with no cajones? Was Castle a nice guy with no cajones? Diarra? We’ve had a bunch of absolute dogs during Hurley’s tenure.

Not talking about past teams - he's had plenty, but he's totally moved away from it and it's puzzling. If anything, why move away from what worked so well...

Should've stayed, obviously. Oriakhi though did not like playing under Calhoun.

It's weird to ascribe it to some kind of intentional "move" by Hurley. Like it was a philosophical shift to recruit nice guys. This falls in the "every thought doesn't merit a post" camp.

I think he’s on record about wanting good kids from good families. Which would lead into the belief we’re recruiting nice guys.

Even though dogs can come from these places. But still.

no he left when his one year of eligibility was removed due to UConn issues and transferred to Missouri to play. Liked watching him.

I think he's talking about the players/teams since we went back to back. I don't get the tattoo thing though.

Also, Liam is a fiery competitor.

Now just noticed Junior County is a PG not SG. Led Wasatch with 13.47ppg, 47% fg, 40% 3fg, 81 def rebounds (5.63 per game) and 3.58 assists per game.
