I saw him once in IKEA in New Haven. He's maybe 6'5. I'm 6'8 and was surprised at how much taller I was than him.Isn’t Diarra like 6’8”? And he looks taller than him.

High school freshmen this fall. And what he's saying is that Dan Hurley doesn't want more than 2 freshmen, so we're done
I agree. When I saw we were heavily involved and watched his game tape, I thought, "we've gotta get him here." Now that he's coming here, I just have that really good gut feeling as well. Has all the skills you mentioned, and I love that football/dog mentality this dude is going to bring. We were loaded with dudes like that in 23 and 24 and we all know the results. I feel like Florida had a few dudes like that last year and it gave them that edge they needed to win it all. I've always thought it's what separates the really good teams from the champions.I've seen this kid listed at 6'6 and even 6'5, he's gotta be 6'6 barefoot. Caron may be the best comparison out of our former players in terms of game and size. Not saying he'll be as good as Caron but I have a good feeling about this kid. Great build, ball skills, shot maker with a nice three point shot, great hands, good rebounder, football mentality, can play guard and forward.

if the vid was posted already, oh well. someone get that little girl a Husky!!
All I am saying is that he is still in play. Would it be great to get him, absolutely. That would be an incoming class of 3 frosh. I don’t think Hurley wants more than 3. If we don’t get him then it is portal time.
Love me some rank risers with LEGIT NBA potential.“Colben is a super skilled and very versatile wing/forward. Can really guard 4 positions and is an excellent rebounder on both sides of the ball. His physical strength and shooting abilities is what separates him from your typical college freshman,” Wheeler assistant Larry Thompson told ZAGSBLOG. “He is a high volume shot maker with a ton of range on his jumper and is able to absorb contact in the paint when driving the ball to the basket. Elite passer and super unselfish! Will be ready to compete from day 1 when he steps on campus.”

Four-star Colben Landrew commits to UConn: 'Will be ready to compete from Day 1' | Zagsblog

But how tall r y barefoot?I saw him once in IKEA in New Haven. He's maybe 6'5. I'm 6'8 and was surprised at how much taller I was than him.
More specifically, the kind of big guard we've killed people with recently and that we were missing last year outside of McNeeley. The who offered who more money angle to the least interesting angle imaginable. Plus, none of you nitwits actually know who got what from who, so stop. We’re not out there offering Applebees coupons to recruits.
Also, I love this pickup. He seems like the kind of big guard who has killed us over the past 20 years. If a 6’6” 230 pound guard has to run over a 6’1” 180 pound guard, I would prefer that we have the former.
if you missed it here it is
My player comp is Lyman DePriest with a better offensive game. Of course, I've never seen Colben play so I'm just making that up. A bit of wishful thinking. But the size is right and the description of how he plays seems to fit.Player comps don't have to be exact as far as impact, just how the guy is built and plays.
I don't think anyone believes Colben is right now as good as Caron ended up, but he certainly fits the profile. He's a top 20 nationally ranked recruit, so the potential is there to be as good. But that physical finisher and rebounder with the ability to step out is a good comp, imo.
They can’t really go all in on a school when CBS/247 is hosting his announcement. They can’t just steal his thunder.247 finally put in a level 6 (medium) crystal ball for us today at 1:30pm. Talk about going out on a limb.
Back in his day we used to say while snickering (but not a joke really), "Put in Lyman, he'll solve ALL our problems".... But really, he could guard anyone (hello Dana Barros and Shaq) and did whatever you needed for the team.My player comp is Lyman DePriest with a better offensive game. The descriptions make Colben sound a lot like Stephon. Granted, no one is Stephon and this kid may still have some growing to do. Once he's at UConn hitting the gym hard, oh boy. Nice to see another Georgia kid come to UConn
“I would say I’m a three-level scorer. I can rebound, pass, shoot, dribble. I’m a big wing guy. And I can also bring the ball over the court too. So probably like a two, three.”

We've 'borrowed' from each other before. (2026 Recruiting: - Colben Landrew Offered)View attachment 112387
Welcome!
Ive never heard someone say Crystal balls are stealing thunder. They are an institution or used to be. You can argue trilly bombs are stealing thunder since he has a big following and everyone knows who they’re about but no one seems to have a problem with those. And What zanetto did is definitely stealing thunder. Otherwise just get rid of the crystal balls. They can’t really go all in on a school when CBS/247 is hosting his announcement. For those who became UConn fans after his tenure, they have no idea what an impact player he was. It was like dropping a grenade into opposing teams offensive sets.Back in his day we used to say while snickering (but not a joke really), "Put in Lyman, he'll solve ALL our problems".... But really, he could guard anyone (hello Dana Barros and Shaq) and did whatever you needed for the team.
People have said it for awhile, especially about Trilly. He's gotten a ton of flack about his gifs which is why you see him dropping the gifs and predictions much closer to the actual announcements.Ive never heard someone say Crystal balls are stealing thunder. I missed this (I think). Great minds think alike, am I right? 😁We've 'borrowed' from each other before. (2026 Recruiting: - Colben Landrew Offered)
Who could ever disagree? 😜I missed this (I think). Great minds think alike, am I right? 😁
If he is Lyman with offense he will be my favorite Husky ever. Loved Lyman. Not a bit of back down in his game.Back in his day we used to say while snickering (but not a joke really), "Put in Lyman, he'll solve ALL our problems"....
