I can't stop thinking of Uri Cohen-MintzI can’t stop thinking of the Coen brothers and Austin Carr now.

I don't think this is an accurate representation of @husky99's comments. Before the post you quoted, he said that he heard on Monday that UConn is in good shape. So, in other words, he heard we got him, and then later he heard we might get him.
From now on I’m going to take any pronouncements with two grains of salt.Ha yup
Seriously in the running is not signed sealed and delivered.as of sunday but things could have changed as of yesterday.....
thats what i was pointing outSeriously in the running is not signed sealed and delivered.
thats what i was pointing out
freaking out over losing a top 50 guy that we thought was a lock is par for the course.
so are we not allowed to be disappointed? are we passionate fans or robots? i havent blamed anyone or pointed any fingers. And yet you just posted this
I don't think anyone has been getting good information on recruiting for a long time now and Middleton has kept it all as close to the vest as possible.Husky99 says UConn has Middleton signed sealed delivered
You can be disappointed, even if I think it's a bit crazy to talk yourself into a dream scenario and then claim disappointment when it doesn't happen.so are we not allowed to be disappointed? are we passionate fans or robots? i havent blamed anyone or pointed any fingers.
odd for you to take issue with any of it but i think youre either 1) lying or 2) emotionless if youre claiming not to be a bit disappointed at the prospect and perhaps inevitability of missing out on middleton given what an insider said on sunday. You can be disappointed, even if I think it's a bit crazy to talk yourself into a dream scenario and then claim disappointment when it doesn't happen.
But that's besides the point. All I'm pointing out is that you're in this thread claiming recruiting is fluid and things change, while in the Middleton thread claiming he was a lock for UConn. Can't have it both ways
Agree. I hope you understood my comment to @husky99 was meant as a joke.Key is not a lot of winks. Just good guys saying what they're hearing and more often than not it's accurate. But the kids on the other end aren't consistent all that often.
Got it, so you did view Middleton as a lock. That's what I'm taking issue with. Someone saying they heard UConn doesn't make it a lock. You've followed recruiting long enough to know betterodd for you to take issue with any of it but i think youre either 1) lying or 2) emotionless if youre claiming not to be a bit disappointed at the prospect and perhaps inevitability of missing out on middleton given what an insider said on sunday.
furthermore, i wasnt expressing contrary claims in the two threads. i informed a guy that still believed scotty was a lock that the same insider had since updated what he initially heard. while i was "guilty" of getting my hopes up and subsequently becoming disappointed by the news that scotty was no longer a lock, i most certainly can have it both ways. life is a rollercoaster of emotions.
Pretty solid backup planSo are you thinking that we are out of the Middleton sweepstakes then? We shouldn't be losing recruiting battles against Seton Hall...
Get him. Very difficult to defend kids like that unless you hack him at the rim.Like what i saw in his game..powerful, athletic, decent shot...a little Lyman Depriest ish :}
Can I get a breakdown of the Stewart, Carr, and Middleton? I haven’t watched a ton of these guys but am I way off here?
Carr looks to be more of a PF and dunks everything, doesn’t look like he has much offensive game besides that. However, I would love to snag him, he’s a freak
Stewart seems to be most skilled offensively, don’t know about his defense and seems more old school than the other two.
Middleton looks like an athlete and a good defender, offensively probably raw like Carr and doesn’t dunk like him, but I’m guessing a better shooter
Just curious as I have been cooling on Middleton for awhile, ever since we lost Edwards there hasn’t been a guy I was ecstatic on getting at the position. Out of these 3 I feel like I’d want Stewart or Carr over Middleton anyways. If Carr has a jumper he’s who I want, if not I’m leaning towards Stewart.
Thanks! I would be happy with any of them, but I'm leaning Stewart, Carr, Middleton in that order in terms of wish listMiddleton and Carr are basically non-shooters. Overall Carr is more advanced offensively. Stewart has the best skillset, but isn't as athletic.

Gonzaga and UCLA haven't been recruiting him for a long time and haven't offered him yet and where are you getting this 13 month timeline?i feel for whoever is leading stewart's recruitment. no direct flights from Bradley to SeaTac and it's gonna take quite a few to land him... 13 months max before he makes a decision and there's a lot of ground to make up having just offered, especially against the likes of gonzaga and ucla
i'm more optimistic about carr given the castle connection and the fact that staff will be down in GA all the time where they can watch both. hopefully carr keeps growing and shows up on campus at 6'7 220 with no choice but to play PF haha. i'm sure AJ didnt expect to end up playing PF either...

the class of '23 will be starting fall semester in 13 monthswhere are you getting this 13 month timeline?
he wont. we just brought in two transfer PGs.Probably not, so it's a good thing he'll be the PG.
