Not necessarily.

Every game has a luck component, whether it be a hot shooting night, favorable officials calls, etc. If the teams are sufficiently close in overall strength and there's an overly large luck component (rare but not impossible), then upsets happen. In WCBB there is traditionally a pretty large gap between 1 & 8, so the luck required is quite high. In MCBB, it's much closer so there are more upsets. If the gap is shrinking in WCBB -- and certainly with no dominant team this year, it's probably smaller than past years -- then an 8 could win.
Agree. An 8 could definitely take it this year. My point is that the talent level between the top and bottom is so wide, there’s not enough luck in a leprechaun’s pot of gold to create an upset In the early round.

Right next to the Alamo is an old small hotel, the Menger. There is a small bar on the ground floor. in 1898, Teddy Roosevelt used this room as he began to organize the ROUGH RIDERS.
Great place to be - very historic. Go take a look at the glass cased display of the letter written by Col. Travis (commanding Officer at the Alamo) the day before the siege, explaining what was about to happen to them and why they remained committed. Great writing and great penmanship.

It is puzzling to me when I hear people obsessing or even expressing concern about High Point or Syracuse. It is almost inconceivable that UConn would lose to either team. The teams we have to worry about are later in the tournament.
You do realize that if Syracuse were in the Big East that they would be by far the 2nd best team in the league and it wouldn’t even be close. UConn will have a battle on their hands, as the should. It is the NCAA tournament. Syracuse went toe to toe with NC State. Their no pushover.

Syracuse has loads of talent but they screw up alot of games. They miss more layups and turn the ball over way more than they should.
